This is the Ford Service Manual procedure for front door panel removal on 03+ Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Marauders. I have added some notes in italics.
Front Door Panel
Removal and Installation
Tools needed:
9/32" nutdriver, a few torx bits and a flathead screwdriver.
NOTE: Driver door shown, passenger door similar.
1.)Disconnect the battery. (optional)
2.)Remove the exterior mirror cover.
Use the flathead again and pry the top of the piece away, so you can get your fingers under. Carefully pull the top away and out, remembering that the bottom of the piece slides up and out. Be carefull: if you just pull that piece straight out, you might snap the clip off the very bottom of the piece
3.)Remove the interior door handle cup cover.
Use the flathead to gently pry out that small square plastic piece behind the door handle to expose the torx screw beneath. Remove.
CAUTION: Use care not to damage the trim panel when removing the interior door handle.
Remove the torx head screw which was behind the cover.
4.)Lift the front of the window regulator switch plate from the front door trim panel and remove the window regulator switch plate.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Use the flathead to lift the front of the plate up so you can grab it. Lift the panel up gently from the front and make sure to slide the assembly forward (towards firewall) and out.
5.)Remove the front door trim panel screws.
All 9/32" hex head. 2 on the bottom, one under the switch plate you just removed
6.) Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the front door trim panel.
Do this as you remove the panel. Lift is staight UP, then out/off.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
