In our never ending quest to serve you better, CVN hopes to accomplish two things over the next couple of weeks:
- Moving to a new server
- Upgrading our forum software to UBB.threads version 7.4.2
The new server has been leased (still with Hostway), and it is already turned on. The software subscription has been purchased, and the upgrade has been dowloaded. Now the software needs to be installed, and our databases moved, and then everything can be redirected.
There are a couple of downsides. First, we will have some occasional downtime while all of this is accomplished. Second, we will lose Flashchat, because the new improved UBB.threads uses a different structure, and Flashchat has not been updated. I will miss it as much as you will.
We will look at other chat possibilities, including an improved Shout Box that can be opened in its own window.
So, bear with us through our growing pains, and understand that it's all for a better CVN!
