What are you looking for in a console?

A console to fill the gap, and look OE?
Gen II Taurus SHO consoles are a popular choice, and are affordable.

Something cheap, and effective?

Clutter Catcher, or similar mini-van storage console. Available at many retailers.

Something to house a floor shift?
01+ LX Sport, GMQ LSE, and 03-04 Marauder consoles are a direct fit. You will need the mounting plate to make it an easy install.

98-02 Continental consoles can be used as well, jsut alittle more tweaking is needed to have it look right (see my sig)

Something to hold electronic emergency equipment?

Numerous choices. Check out galls. Make a post in our Wanted FOrum to get one pre-owned for much less.

I'm currently using a stainless 12V cooler/heater as a center armrest. IIRC, I got it at Sam's Club for ~$30.

I got a Marauder console from a auto recycler and will install it this weekend. You can usually pick them up for about $100-$200 and they look pretty good. If you go this route you will need the gold mounting bracket with the console. This will leave you with a rectangular hole (where the shifter went) that you can customize for your needs.

This is like asking what type of wax to use. Without specifics on what you are looking for, you will get a ton of different answers.

I paid $70 including shipping for the 98 Continental console and shifter thats the same color as my interior. I guess I made out alright since its the right color. Just won't be installing it untill spring most likely.
