I just got a 2004 p71. The driver seat is powered. The passenger seat (for my wife) is manual. Is there a practical way to buy and install a power passenger seat? Can I buy and install one from a crown vic or mercury marquis? Would would fit? What do you recommend?
Thanks!
Dave

town car, marauder, marquis, and crown vic seats all work.

you can get nice leather town car seats:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-LINC...sspagenameZWDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-Linc...sspagenameZWDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-Linc...sspagenameZWDVW

or you can get the power pass seat from a marquis:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-Merc...sspagenameZWDVW

or you can try local junk yards. if you can get there when a car is just arriving the seats wont be weather beaten yet.

you might have trouble finding a single passenger seat that will match your driver seat. keep an eye on ebay for CV, GM, TC and MM seats, they come up pretty often, not to hard to find some you like.

Thanks so much for your quick replies. Very helpful. I agree it will be hard/impossible to match this grey/black, cloth, police car driver seat. But, I gotta do something so my wife is comfortable in the passenger side. Maybe I'll just put the same color seat covers over them so they look similar after I install the new passenger seat.

Thanks!
Dave

If I am not mistaken, wont you need a new door panel as the controls are located there?

you don't need door controls, p71 switches work perfectly on my 7-way power seats . will be 8-way as soon as i find some new switches

Right now, the passenger seat is manual. There are no power controls on the door panel.

Do all of these marquis, town car, crown vic, and marauder passenger power seats require controls on the door? If so, I guess I would need a new door panel. Do any of them have the controls on the seat itself?

Thanks,
Dave

yes. i gave dondo a full set of town car seats that had manual rrecline and power butt cushion. the switches were on the side of the seat. i have town car seats in my car now and until i find some nice door panels i like i just have the switches coming out from under the seats and when i'm not using them i just tuck them under the seat.

1998 Town Car seats will have the controls on the side of the seat. Otherwsie, you will have to adapt a switch yourself.

Jump on these, FAST if you want them:
