Anyone have any links or leads on someone that has swapped a big block 385 series motor into a late-model Panther?

Looking for info such as motor mounts, headers etc. My brief Googling attempts did not get me any links.

Thanks in advance.

John

Thats because 5.0's came in panthers silly!

But seriously, i know of only one, and he put in a carb-powered 289ci into a 92'

I have a 460 that i want to do something with... who knows it might end up in a newer body panther.

1FSTCAT put a 460 into a box-body Vic. The frame (engine compartment section at least) is the same from the box-bodies through 2002. So if it can fit in a box it can fit in a late model...only point of concern would be hood clearance since the late models have a sloping hood unlike box-body Vics.

Hood clearances have never been a strong-point with me! LOL

I'm just looking forward to an 8'second Marauder and I'm going to need more cubic inches to get there.

So if anyone finds pictures of such a swap, please let me know.

Cheers!

John

Good point, I didn't look to see who was asking. lol

I dunno about pics, but I've got a vid of it running. I'll upload it if I can't find it on here first. Sad to say, the swap wasn't all that impressive (he had issues with it making power) and the vid doesn't show motor mounts or anything that would help you.

Two good links in this thread...http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1115801&page=0&fpart=1
