So I'm trying to figure out what to do with my 2003 P71 117K that I just got.

I just spent 10 hours removing the decal residue from all the Sheriff markings. Degreased under carriage, scrubbed, scrubbed and scrubbed the car and interior, dash, door panels, etc.

My next goal is to degrease detail engine, remove equipment brackets from dash. Shampoo seats, headliner and trunk carpet.

Anyhow, here comes my question:

I wouldn't mind putting a Marauder front bumper cover, grille, front side lights/turn signals and trunk lip/spoiler. Oh yeah, instrument cluster.

Are parts above and others from a 2003/2004 Grand Marquis, Marauder and Crown Victoria interchangeable?

Bonus + Cragar S/S or Mustang Bullit wheels would be nice too...

Im not a 100% expert on the swap, but it is all interchangable. The 03+ has the high offset wheels so stick with the 2005+ Bullitt wheels. I don't think the Cragar SS's will work, they will stick way out past the wheel wells.

I have thought of doing something similiar as I really like my Marauder. I think I would leave the body alone, personally, but the Marauder wheels will fit your '03+ CVPI.

I want to do an interior swap (seats, center console, door panels), seats and motor. I would love to find a wrecked Marauder with a good drivetrain and just swap the interior, motor, tranny, rear end, wheels, and tires and have a nice daily driver.

As for the bumpers, I think you can do that, but to get the front bumper, grill, etc to work you need the Marauder header panel as well. I think the rear bumper is an exact swap - if you decide you want to go that route.

Good luck with your project.

Exactly right. The area around the grill is completely different. The headlights and grill will absolutely not swap. The headlights might swap, but it'd require quite a bit of tooling on the header panel to get them to even fit and then there's the question of looking right. The grill, fuhgitabowtit. And without the proper grill there'll be a gap between the bottom of the CV grill nad the top of the MGM/MM bumper cover. And if you go the MGM/MM header panel route, I think you'll have to swap the hood as well because the CV hood doesn't really match up to the MGM header panel.

There's a write up on swapping MGM/MM corners onto a CV in the BoK forum. I'm doing it myself.

If you want the word "MARAUDER" emblazoned on the back of your otherwise CV car.

Not true; 1998+ Crown Victoria and Mercury Marquis (including the Marauder) hoods are the same / inter-changeable.

I've had a crazy idea like what you're doing for a project. I would take an 03+ CVPI and turn it into an "2008 Marauder." For its appearance, I would swap in '06+ Grand Marquis headlights and corners (they would have to be blackhoused first, I don't think anyone sells them blacked-out), header panel, and grille painted body color in the same style as the real Marauder. I would swap the rear fascia with 07+ Grand Marquis panels and tail lights, painting the chrome piece to match the body and tinting everything with VHT niteshades. I would used 03-04 Marauder bumpers front and rear, as well as changing out the PI door trim for LX/Marauder style.

I have too much free time.

Example of componets that I've swapped ...
  • corner / side-marker lights (requires minor fabrication)
  • rear spoiler
  • trunk panel (eliminates emblem indentations and has tinted back-up lights)
  • dash moldings
  • shifter - bezel, collar, selector button (LX Sport already has floor shift)
  • steering wheel
  • guage pod (LX Sport cubby-hole replacement)
  • seats
  • door panels
  • exhaust tips
  • rear sway bar
  • hood (base for cowl scoop)
  • wheels

From the looks of your sig, you have a lot of bulletbirds. I have a 62 hardtop.

If you just get the marauder wheels and tint the taillights and reverse lights, your car will already look VERY close to a marauder from the side providing you get the exhaust tips and black paint. The front end can get expensive with the bumper unless you can find a good used one for cheap.

I've owned 4 or 5 Thunderbirs. 1961-1963. From beaters to restored show cars. Boy, do I miss that 300HP 390ci.

I'm debating which car to sell, the 1991 or 2003. Obviously I'll get more cash for the 2003.

But the more I drive it the more I love the car.

I may just replace the bumper covers with O.E.M., paint it all black, patch the holes. Would be cool to have a Marauder instrument cluster though and exhaust tips. Dual glasspacks and the Bullit wheels.

I have a 2003 Marauder cluster I just bought, can someone point me to a link or instructions of how to install it in my 2004 CVPI? I also have the over head console as well, but that does not look too complicated.

So the 2003 is sold huh? I saw the craigslist ad and then a couple days later it was gone.
