Car running rough 104,000 miles. Check engine light on, and flashes sometimes. Went to autozone code PO308 cylinder #8 misfire. Suggested putting fuel injector cleaner in. maybe sticking injector. bad plug, wire or coil pack. Looked at engine,looks totally different the 1997 crown vic. Is the spark plug next to the injector? Which is the cylinder #8? ALso any suggestions.

Cylinder 8 is the cilinder closest to the firewall on the driver side.

Fuel injector cleaner is not gonna fix it. Could be a # of things - plugs fouled, damaged boot & spring on COP, oil/water leakage into spark plug well, faulty COP (coil on plug), coil or injector disconnected, damaged wiring to coil or injector, faulty injector, low or no compression from damaged valve, etc. Most common issues however are with COP's, boots & springs, and plugs.

The plug is in the same place as the 97. It just has a coil sitting directly on top of it, rather than a plugwire.

ok thanks I will try pulling plug can you replace just the cop on the # 8 cylinder?

Yes, but I'd make sure that's the problem before you spend $$$ on it. If you can afford the $30-50 though, I'd say go ahead and replace it and if it solves the problem, there ya go. If not, you've got a good spare, because one will eventually die out.
