A shop is gonna have the car a few days to do the tranny. If you pick one up at a yard monday morning the car could be ready to go by monday night.

Id say your not getting a rebuild for less than $1500.

There are a bunch in Michigan listed on Car-part.com for $500-700. To have your old one rebuilt, I would say $750-1500.

Rebuild cost will vary from shop to shop. IIRC, the trans rebuild for my car cost around 1700 (done by prev. owner). When this trans went south, I bought a used tranny ('00 w/ 10K) for $365.
I'd see if you can find a decent used trans, and find a shop to install it for 'ya.

Man, for that you could have gotten the "Street" version of the tranny with a new torque converter from Lonnie or Darrin...

I think that is the route I am going to go. Just trying to decide if I want the "street" and upgrade the torque converter or spend a little extra and get the "Stage II".
