So... How well does a Crown Vic fit on a U-Haul trailer? I already know U-Haul doesn't allow one on their trailers. But I am thinking about doing it anyway. Anyone do such? Experiences? Advice?

Wow, nice car.

I've definitely seen it done before, but I've never done it.

I don't think it is an issue with size I think it is more an issue with weight.

make sure you find out what the load limit for the trailer is first then go for it...they cant care about something that they know nothing about =]

Just like the retarded, "You can't rent this trailer because you drive an Explorer", non-sense.

They work just fine. Better have some good brakes on the tow vehicle!

CrazyCor15, I answered your PM, check your mail.

Back in 1999, I hauled a 1995 CVPI from Texas to Michigain for the guy buying the car. I told U-Haul It was a 1995 CV and using a F-250 SD, they rented it to me. So maybe times have changed since this was almost 10 years ago (Damn I am old). I fit very well and was easy to drive on and off. The weight of the F250 SD was enough to not move the trailer as I drove up the ramp. The F250 did not drop much and I was able to go highway speeds. The trip was so much fun, truckers talking to me on my CB and asking about the car. I woudl probably not do it again even if I had the truck, gas is too expensive.

Here are the pictures, camcorder images so they are not good. Car was only 4 years old as this was Dec 1999.

I told them I had an F-250 to tow a crown vic, they wouldn't rent it to me. They said that the vehicle being towed had to be no more than 60% of the towing vehicle (or some such [censored] like that) They WOULD rent it to me if I rented their F-150 20' box truck though..

It has to do with $$$$$ , that's all...

Why doesn't U-Haul just put all their $hit in a museum and ban everyone from touching it? U-Haul's crap is utterly useless with their dumbass policies.

Fu(k U-Haul.
