That looks awesome, and the hardware is nothing short of impressive, but I was never impressed with the minute changes made to the Panther to make the Marauder. It's a black Crown Vic with a detuned Cobra engine sans manual gearbox.

I was very impressed when I saw the Marauder, now that I've put 7oK on her in five years.
I am even more impressed.
This car rocks!

The problem with the Marauder is it has nothing off the line. No usable powerband rush until over 4000rpm. No 'seat-of-the-pants' rush like a high-torque motor gives.

I was seriously diappointed in Ford's execution of the Marauder. I was hoping it would out SS the Impala SS, but it fell far short because of the Marauder's lack of low-rpm power AND the fact that Ford never promotoed it after it's introduction.

Some Marauder owners got "Factory Freaks" (for MM.NETers theUsername is TripleTransAm) from the factory, someone had a 14.49 1/4 mile time bone stock!

Yes, it is a nice article. But I think it offers some clues as to the shape of the U.S. auto industry as we end 2008. Let's be honest...the CAFE work-arounds, didn't do any carmaker any good...long term. Of course, that's all hind-sight now. I just wonder that if in six months, Ford, GM and Chrysler will exist in the same form as they do now. It'll be interesting to see what kinds of cars are being advertised in Nov. and Dec. of 2009.
