Regular trim rings don't fit the 03-04 P71 wheels.

Yes, Wheel spacers are required to run 2003+ wheels on anything older than a 2003, they do make chrome trim rings for 2003+ wheels but they are not the same as the ones on your 1999. Leaving for work now but I will try to post a pic of 03+ chrome trim rings unless someone beats me too it.

It'd be a lot cheaper to get a set of 17" Charger steelies. They look a lot like the newer 17" wheels on CV's, with an offset and bolt pattern which works pretty well on pre-'03's. You can even use the Ford collared lugnuts and install a set of the Ford "pancake" style center caps.
Yes, I do realize that you were asking about the 16" '03-06 (?) steelies. I just think the 17's look a lot better. \:\)

I beg to differ... I've used these on the snow tire steelies on my '02 as well as my '04. The clips just slip over the outside edge of the wheel so they work fine for both.

This may be a stupid question, but...

I currently have the stock 16x7 steelies on my 2007 CV P74 (civilian) and would like to upgrade to the 17x7 OEM steelies.

Is this a direct swap with no modifications?

What is the correct tire size for the 17" wheels on a CVPI?

You know this thread is 2 years old, right?

P73/4 steal rims are the same as P71.

17s will bolt right on to the 03+ vics

you can also use charger 17" steel wheels that look exactly like the ford ones except have a bigger offset. i use them on my car and i like the way it lines up with the fender.
