everybody says theres no police chips but i keep having multiple cops in my town that i know say to me that there is and it would be instaled right into the j3 port of your ecu. if it was there.. he told me that there was a stage 3 and stage 4 and the state police in our state use a stage 4 which soposedly comes from ford and is almost a grand or more in price. but will alow the car to do 180 mph, and soposedly gives it an extra gear.. i think hes giving me a line of bull shi* if u ask me. but.... i have seen troops on the highway fly by me at well over 120 mph. and in 06 cvpi's btw which i know for a fact that according to ford, 06 cvpis were limited to one twenty something.. who knows.. somebody shed some light on this..

My 2001 hit 133 or so before i shut it down. There are chips, but they are not limited. Anyone can get a chip burned and eliminate the governor ect.

I don't think Cvpis have governers at least not the ones I rode in. I haven't personally tried to hit the limit 110 is good for big azz vic but a friend has hit the pin a couple of times. I also find it odd that his car can keep pace with bmws and a un-governed acura cl

civvies are torque limited to around 110, and the P71s to around 125. PERIOD.

There is no cop chip, cop motor, supercharger, etc.

Even WITHOUT a torque limiter, it'd take quite a bit for a stock vic, p71 or not, to get up to 140. Even more so with 3.55 or 3.27 RAR.

So the cop chip installs extra internals into the trans to make the 4r70w a 5 speed auto? You are right, your buddy is full of sh!t

I have had my P71 up to about 115ish and it took a while to get there. It also gets a little cumbersome in turns at the speed.

Yea, It gets kinda scary at the speeds in a big car. Not sure what the top speed for the 2001 is but i have hit 133 and could've went faster, but like stated above, you need an autobahn to hit those speeds lol

We have cops in our town that can make stage four cop chips out of free donuts. Just don't feed them any beans.

180 is simply not possible without heavy modifications. Even if it was it would be so unsafe you would have to be insane to try it in a stock vic or cvpi.

CVPI vics have a hard time staying at it at 140. If you want proof check out this vid...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlUrhnBzkrE

On the open highway the impala ss walks right away from the cops, most of if not all of whom are driving cvpi's. We know the impala ss tops out between 140 and 150.

Not knocking the vics but they just were not meant to do much more than 125-130ish range.
