need help to find good description and images of 7200/2700 VV model carb adjustments and home diagnosis and repair. i've downloaded few pdfs, but looking for total clarity

Those carbs are very tricky to set up, but if I were you I would buy THIS inorder to do the job right.

Does anyone know smth about edelbrock (not sure in correct name and model type). my friend when had grandmarquis90 replaced my type of carb with this one. he says it's much better in performance, adjustment and maintenance. please advise

I've tried both Edelbrock and Holley carburetors on my 5.8.

Purchasing a reman 7200VV and returning to a 2-bbl intake was the best investment I have ever made in terms of drivability and fuel economy with the '91. My advice is to stay stock, and pay the money for a professionally remanufactured variable venturi.

The one I sent you didn't work??? It was fine on my car when I removed it.

i already bought almost new 7200VV carb for 80 usd. it looks good and engine sounds but more than week can't find electrician to set it up. so like i was told these carbs are hard to adjust due to the emissions demand.
at present time trying to handle on myself. it all gets great, but still can't make up my mind about how to correctly set idle.

moreover i found not bad short description and adjustment tips on this type of carbs. if anyone interested, i can lay it out or post. it's quite clear but needs self discoveries to fit the adjustment to a certain vehicle. maybe it's all coz of absence of the emissions ctrl label under hood- i never had it there. so that's why i have to do custom settings.
maybe anyone knows if it's possible to restore the label eg with the help of vin or some other details. please advise.

what you mean? can't find reman carbs? i mentioned that i bought almost new (taken from other vehicle while disassembly), a lot could be found longterm used but also remanufactured. owner was about to let em for average 30 usd each.

I am talking about a carb where one would either take it in to get it professionally rebuilt, or buy one already rebuilt, returning the old one as a core.

my friend bought my carb in Saint Thomas, where ford cars are produced. He said everywhere around it's not a problem to find a carb that matches 5.8 engine.actually my old carb is still with me.

Yes, but is the carb rebuilt professionally? Or just used? I already have a used one sitting on my engine.

the carb actually on my engine seems to be new (anyway I was told so and still don't have reasons to doubt). Is that on your engine performs bad? Yesterday I undertook to adjust it on myself and today quite satisfied. Moreover,I replaced old vacuum hoses and simplified the routing. So I got 550rpm in drive, stable idling even with old sparkplugs and perfect acceleration even during uphill.
Maybe you should try to use maintenance kit to replace old rubbers and springs etc? If you understand mechanics well, this should do the job.

It's hard to start, gives a really high idle, and some run-on after killing the engine. She blows super clean on emissions though. I have a non-ford VV repair manual, but no experience with carbs. This lack of experience makes a professional rebuild very appealing.

when i first started my engine with that new carb, the idling was very high and erratic too. on my tach it showed 1700 rotation per min, and the car was really noisy. Today the car drives well.
If you still wish to try to adjust your carb yourself, start first with the vacuum routing, check if anything's right, ain't there a vacuum leakage(what also procudes high idling and unstable performance). if interested, i can send you diagrams of vacuum (both by manual and designed by myself)
