Very happy with the MKS. Finally got used to all the bells & whistles. Better handling, good MPG (25-27 highway) Better stopping distance & much faster acceleration.

Perhaps to change his steering wheel (in favor of a w/ cruise, and/or w/ leather version) ;\)

The procedure is outlined here, rauder;

There are two plugs on the back side of the wheel,..pop them out with a small flat tipped screwdriver. Oh wait, disconnect your battery first!!! then with a 10mm socket/ratchet assembly unscrew the two airbag retaining bolts. Remove the airbag.

Then disconnect the wire harnesses

The procedure described by bosaw is for the 2004 and prior models. The 2005+ do not have the pop-out plugs and screws of the earlier versions. There are four (two per side) small holes in the back of the steering wheel yoke. If these have anything to do with air bag removal, I would like to know. I would like to change the steering wheel on my 2008.

In the last 5 years, we've learned this and posted it quite a few times, and dRock was right in the first answer anyway, why necro?
