What are some refrigerant oil brands that I can use to lubricate O-rings?

I have a question relating to this area as well, what color are those "leak detector fluids" do they look sorta like antifreeze? My ac worked beautiful till tues I noticed some green fluid on the ground checked coolant level first a ok.. Now I took another look at why the ac comp. wasn't turning on, I put a jumper wire on the plug that goes to accum. walla ac comp. turns on...Now upon inspection of the accum. there is a whole bunch of that green fluid on the insulation that goes around accum. an it dripped onto the chassis explaining my leak on the ground... Looks like a new accumulator, would be in order.. Thoughts difficult job? Have people done this job/ needed an accum? Thanks

Ok bluemobile you answered my question I was concerned bout those connections where the accum. hooks up to the hoses.. I'm assuming there are O rings in there.. Hopefully the charging is the similar to a residential house, thats what I do for a living when the economy picks back up that is.. I have a vac pump and stuff so shouldn't be any trouble. I will let you know

Do I use the pag-46 oil the same way i would use r134a freon, by connecting it to a pump gauge and pumping the oil into the liquid line?

old thread i know but phnx, to answer your question you asked 2 years ago, it depends on what type of container you got your oil in. a regular bottle with a cap will either need to be put in the accumulator before installing (not preferred) or forced in the suction line by a siphon pump lookin thing. if you got the can you can tap with your hose set its just the same as adding refrigerant.

the low pressure side aka the suction side is not in fact drawing a vacuum or sucking anything in. you'll still need a pressurized can to put anything in there.
