I'm finally ready to order all my new front end parts(upper & lower ball joints, tie rods, sway bar links, idler arm, pitman arm). Now my problems is deciding if it's worth the extra $100 to get the Moog parts compared to the Raybestos Professional parts.
Has anyone had any hands-on experience with both brands? I need any extra money I can get, BUT I don't want to replace these parts any time soon either! Is it worth the extra cost to go Moog?

Thanks a lot guys!!
Ryan

Having sold both in the past, I can tell you the Raybestos is actually Spicer brand in a Raybestos box and I personally would prefer it over anything by Moog. Especially if it's cheaper than Moog through your supplier!

Raybestos suspension parts suck. I bought Raybestos tie rod ends from Rock. I called Rock back and said these parts really suck as the threads were so poorly manu'ed.You threaded it in about an inch and they started stripping.
Rock gave me a full refund and told me to keep em' which meant throw them in the garbage which I did. Went with Moog from there on out.Bought it all from Rock with CVN discount. Rock rocks.
I replaced inner & outer
pittman and centerlink
stab bars and bushings
All Moog and bolted right up.98 CVPI.

I'm glad to hear that you had a good experience with Moog, as I am about to install some Moog components that I bought after first considering the Raybestos brand.

Glad I saw this I am looking for l/r lower control arms. Lookin at rock auto right now. Was considering Raybestos but will look elsewhere.

Not to hijack but I need the front control arms and bushings right? Or do I need joints? I am very confused.

If you're not using OEM then the second choice should be Moog \:\)

Moog has always been a good bet on any suspension components and the brand I try to get if possible.

Thanks a lot guys! Better safe than sorry...I'll go with the Moog parts. I guess an extra $100 is cheap insurance. I don't want to do this job twice! Thanks for the heads-up on the fork kit Raybo. Anything to help get the job done easier is more than welcome. I don't exactly have an ideal place to do the work. I'll let you guys know how everything goes.
Are there any other front end parts I should replace while I've got it tore apart? This is my first time doin front end work. Any tips or advice are highly appreciated.
Rockauto is a lifesaver!
Thanks again everybody!

I was lucky and did not have to do the control arms or
bushings. But have lurked on alot of posts here about them and there pretty straight forward.
I did not need ball j's either which is a whole other deal.
Good Luck!!!!

I'd recommend Moog over Raybestos or Autozone anything. I just had upper/lower control arm bushings replaced (Energy Suspension brand), and Moog upper/lower ball joints and Moog sway bar endlinks installed...bought all from RockAuto...and the front end feels brand new and considerably more stable.

Good luck.

i replaced everything in my front end with Moog, from the whole tie rod assembly, pitman & idler arm, to all bushings and ball joints. i wouldnt go for anything else because i just dont trust em. got mine from rockauto with the discount, and if u buy in bulk the discount really helps. you cant go wrong with moog, unless you get motorcraft. spending a little now will go a long way!
