Today I got 2 CEL codes

P2106 - TAC System Forced Limited Power
P016B - Manf Cntrl Fuel Air Metering, Auxiliary Emission Controls

What could these be?

I am also getting an intermittant Powertrain Malfunction Indicator light (litte wrench icon)

My Scanguage II with X-Guage picked these Parameter Identifications Descriptors (PID's) up as well:

PID03 - Loop Open
PID04 - LOD (Engine Loading) 18
PID05 - WT *F 184
PID0B - MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) PSI 8.9
PID0C - RPM 2045
PID0D - MPH 70
PID0E - IGN (Ignition Timing) 13
PID0F - IAT *F 22
PID10 - GPH (Gallons Per Hour) 2.47
PID11 = TPS (Throttle Position Setting) 16

So whats all this mean?

Ok so I think my definition of the 2 CEL codes are wrong as I used a 2003 CV list for reference. I have the Actron software that came with my code reader and it only goes to 2003 and Actron said it doesnt need to put out an update yet.

Anyway, Can anyone help?

well, my research showes your 2106 is an issue with the Drive By Wire system, since your 06 doesn't use a throttle cable. i would suggest taking her to a dealer. i've got a detailed list of ford OBDII used in 06, and the p016B is blank, so i can't help you on that one.

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't this auto a Flex Fuel car? i'm not up on the newer fuel systems after 02

Not a flex fuel car. I think the 09+ are flex fuel. I have an appointment for 8am Monday. I just was looking to see what it may be.

I am also curious as to what those things mean that the ScanGuage is putting out.

those are operational peramiters that the computer uses to decide what modes different parts are in, how much fuel to give the engine, air ect.

flex fuel has nothing to do with your problems at all.

That is the code for a problem with the throttle control unit. WHen it senses an error it will cut power to the motor to prevent what is happening to Toyota with the sudden acceleration.

This is one to let the dealer look at unless you know a really well equipped shop that has some background in the wire systems....(none around here thats for sure)

My guess is corrosion or malfunction the pedal assembly itself...

by the way my 2006 is a flex fuel vehicle...

Ok, took the car in today at 7:30 AM and got it back around 9:30 AM.

I dont have anything for SSM (Special Service Message) 20767 as I dont have access to an OASIS.

I didnt have to pay for this because they replaced the air filter at my last service and figured it was their error. I love my Ford dealer!

They already fixed the issue free of charge as I said.

In case you have to tell in the future, some 06+ Models are Flex Fuel Vehicles.

It will be denoted by the 8th VIN position.

The non flex fuel will be VIN code "W" in the eighth VIN position.

The Flex Fuel Capable motor will be indicated by a "V" in the eighth VIN position.

I puzzled over mine for a good hour before I reached a solid conclusion. Hope this helps in the future.

The TSB is for a warped airbox. Is yours warped?

If its not and they just guessed the that air filter then it might be something else.

Its not warped or damaged. The TSB says its for an "improperly sealed air box" which this was. Nevertheless, they applied it and it was free.
