Well, I called Ford to see how much a factory CD player would cost (and for them to put it in as well). Needled to say, I REALLY LOL'ed when they quoted me almost $700+ dollars lol

If it will fit in my 2007 CVPI. I've noticed a few SAP vic's with this exact CD player in them (2006+ models) so I can't imagine why it wouldn't.
Right now I have the "upgraded " radio, with the tape player, RDS, etc. (I noticed many of the older LX's had this radio).
If I buy this radio for $90, I wounder how much Ford would want to put it in ???

I can't see why that wouldn't fit. You absolutely DON'T need Ford to put it in; just watch, the guy will attempt to tell you they need to hook the car up to OBD-II for "Diagnostics Time" to figure out what's wrong with the radio.... lol. Yes I am bitter about my last Ford dealer service experience. ANYWAYS, go to Best Buy and get the two U-shaped clips that insert into the two holes on each side of the radio. Press them in until they click, then you should be able to pull the whole thing out. Since you have an '07 and this radio is for a '05-'08, I'll bet you can just unplug the wiring harness and snap the new one right in. It's really easy. I would recommend just getting an aftermarket radio since you can get one for about $70 that'll sound better; that's only about one step harder, but you might have to splice wires into the wiring harness adapter which can be a pain.

You really should pull your radio and see if it has the same plugs as the one on ebay... I don't remember seeing a tape only unit that has the same connectors as the '03-up civvy CV/MGM CD or CD tape combo units...

There are sellers on ebay who sell the removal tool for cheap...

The other thing you could look into is picking up a CD changer, but again, GrandMarq brings up a good point, you would definitely want to make sure you have the right connections... My car had the RDS "deluxe" tape deck with cd changer controls; it also has a wiring harness in the trunk for the cd changer.

I'm just curious... my Crown Victoria also came with the RDS Tape Deck with the CD changer controls on it. But I don't see the cable in the trunk for the changer? Anyone know where I should expect it to be? I have the subwoofer wiring... so I'm not sure why I wouldn't have the changer wiring.

For what it's worth, I found a 4-pronged connector back there (with only three wires hooked up). I don't have the air ride suspension, so I have no idea what that goes to...

The harness for the CD changer isn't there, and only the cars that came with the changer will have the cable. I've seen the cable listed on ebay from time to time, but they're hard to find. When my car was two years old we had it upgraded to the radio with CD controls, and the changer was installed. Funny thing is I almost never use the changer and mostly listen to Sirius or my ipod, but I'm not quite ready to remove the changer and cable.

Huh... weird. I have a harness in the lower left corner, and one where the subwoofer would be so I just kind of assumed it was for the cd changer. Do you know what else that wire would be for? Maybe I had a cd changer and someone took it out.

And lol, it's not my trunk. But I wouldn't mind having that trunk organizer... That floor well in mine is full of all kinds of crap. One of these days I'll have to tackle cleaning it out.

Hmm... I don't have RAS, I have coil overs. I'm kinda thinking maybe I had a cd changer and the guy yanked it out.

Although strangely enough, it does have a CD button, and when I press it it says "NO CDDJ".

I have this F-150 single-disk CD player with RDS. I've had it for over 7 years without any issues. Works great. This should fit your '07 CVCPI as well, even though the description states only until 2002. The heater duct wasn't upgraded for '03+ CVPIs, like the civilian models did. Which is why they get double DIN radios. CVPIs still have 1.5 DIN, so this should be a direct fit in your's. And it is a simple plug-n-play too.

If it has the orange 16 pin connector shown in the P71 link, the one on ebay PI linked to(just above this post) would be a direct fit but that one defiantly will not direct fit a '03-up civvy CV or MGM... From all I've read a '07 should have the 24 pin connector, and thus the ebay unit in the first post would be a direct fit(same unit as in my '07,yes I've had mine out), would be interesting to know what's actually in a late CVPI...

We have a 2007 LX, and a 2008 LX. Both cars came with the AM/FM/Single CD/Tape with RDS, and the Sat contoller. On the 07 I wanted a CD6, and purchased a new take out unit from a dealer who pulled the OEM CD6 Audiophile unit out of a brand new 2007 Escape to install a nav system. Using the radio install clips that you can buy at any auto parts store, I removed the original radio, and plugged in the new CD6 unit. Everything connected without any issues, even the steering wheel controls work. The 07 has no wiring harnese for the remote CD player, unless it is ordered with the player. There are some extra wires with plugs on them in both of the cars, but they are not for a CD player, or for a subwoofer. If by chance you buy a radio that has a different plug style, there are two styles, you can get an adaptor from <Stereostogo>. What ever you do, do not cut the wiring harnase on your car.
