I’m currently in the process of getting a new car, which will serve as my daily driver, so the Marauder would become the "fun " car.

After alot of thinking, I decided the Crown Victoria suits me the best and since STAP will be closing in the not-so-distant future I’d like to order one before it’s too late.

Unfortunately the LX Sport is no longer available, if it was, I would of purchased one without hesitation. However since that is no longer an option, can you please let me know what the advantage of a LX over the P71 is? And vise-versa.

Here are the two Crown Vics:

1. 2011 Crown Victoria LX (P7E)
$28,162 Base (invoice)
$300.00 Options (invoice)
Audio – Dual-media AM/FM stereo with single-CD/cassette player
Mirrors – Heated sideview
Rear-seat reading lights

$875 Freight
$29,337.00 Total delivered to dealer

2. 2011 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (P7B)
$26,189 Base (invoice)
$1432 Options (invoice)
$875 Freight
$28,496.00 Total delivered to dealer

I can't give you tech specs, but LX > P71 in comfort.

How does the P71 come? If you're going to order a P71, order a SAP for carpet and the such.

I'd take the LX, but it sure would be cool to have a CVPI straight from the factory!

Being a new car, the only difference would really be if you'd want the digital climate control, leather and RAS. Otherwise you can actually have a new Interceptor built exactly how you'd want. It'd just be slightly higher because of the springs.

The P71 is a SAP w/3.55s in the rear. Don't remember the options off the top of my head.

None of those are options on the LX.

Only insight I can really offer at this point is on heated mirrors. After getting a few ice storms 'round these parts, I truly see the benefit to heated mirrors. Sucks that my Magnum doesn't have them.

That already makes the new P71 > LX. Plus you could get taction lock on the Interceptor, no open diff malarkey.

Can't you get those as a option on the Interceptors?

Maybe? If so, I'd spring for 'em.

So the P71 you're looking at is a SAP..? The way I see it by the way this thread is going, I'd say new P71.

Of course, if you ever try and sell in the future, the LX would probably be able to fetch a better price.

depends on what options you can get but i would deffinatly recomend getting the track lock and 3.27's or more for each saves money in the end

also i never want a car with eatc again so the p71 wins there

and the only thing i se you missing is leather and a front bench seat

I'd go with the Interceptor.

Resale on these cars is like comparing which of two rocks sinks faster in the ocean...

Quasar's 03 LX and my 03 P71 both have heated mirrors.

SAP would definitely be my choice if I could buy new; best of both worlds.
