Umm your trying to cover up the hole after removing the spotlight i take it?

No company sells a rubber grommet to fill it, people just custom fit one. In reality you need to fill the hole with sheet metal and bondo then paint over it. This is why some people just leave the spotlight on cause it's such a pain to fix the door.

According to your location (living in the state of Pennsylvania), if you do a quick search here, you'll find out that MANY members here have been harassed by the LEO in PA. Although some will disagree / agree, it is illegal to own a car with a spotlight in the state of PA.
Now, before you start to doubt my statement, PLEASE do a search, and read for yourself on the laws of spotlights on vehicles in PA. It's here on CVN somewhere, and draw your own conclusions.

All I know is, if I lived in PA, my spotlight would come off immediately.

yeah i dont care if it legal or not that doesnt bother me i got nothing to hid. I went past the state police building and i saw the cop run to his car and come ripping out of the station and pull me over a mile down the road. And i asked why was i being harrassed and i was told my tint was too dark. Then he decided to ask me how much i paid for it and that it looked and sounded good and then wrote me a ticket. I Just wanna take the spot light off and put the newer style hub cabs on to make it look more not like a typical cop car.

What size is the hole that is left when the light is removed? There are rubber hole plugs available in just about every diameter that is common. There are holes that need to be plugged in all things in the boating world.

So let me get this straight...

You have illegal tint, asked a COP why you were getting harassed, then think the only reason is because of the spotlight making your car look like a cop car??

I would have written you a ticket too. Don't have illegal equipment on your car and follow all traffic laws, it's really simple. I highly doubt he pulled out because of the black spotlight on your vehicle...

That's just me and i have NEVER been harassed by police at all with my car, mostly they just wave or compliment me on the tint like the State Troopers do.

the hole is not circular, it is an oval.. good luck getting a plug to fill it. honestly if i were you, until you can afford to fix the door, pull the spotlight head apart and remove the bulb and lens (or just the bulb reflector assembly depending on which type it is) they cant ticket you for what you don't have!

If you do remove the spotlight outright just fill the hole in the a pillar with clear silicone caulk as a cheap repair.

On a side note, I don't know if it is legal or not to have a spotlight on a civilian car in PA, but if it were id carry around a copy of the statute that states it is legal. Furthermore I would also log the run-ins with the police where the spotlight was one of their questions. More than 2 instances and I would present that info to the local Chief of Police where you have been getting pulled over for it and POLITELY ask the Chief to inform his subordinates that spotlights are legal. (again this assumes they are legal) No reason i can come up with that you should be required to remove something that you bought your car with, just because officer friendly doesn't like it.

NEVER ARGUE WITH A COP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!!! you will only piss him/her off and you will ALWAYS leave the scene with a ticket, legitimate or not.
Yes Sir/Ma'am/Officer, No " " is your best shot at a "thank you for your cooperation, heres your information back and a verbal/written warning, have a good day". Be polite despite how much you believe they are "Pigs", you may find yourself surprised to find out that they are in fact human.

JetSledOnWheels, what one could do is open up the head and unpulg the bulb and just reassemble it. That way it doesnt look bad and you can prove its non functioning.

Or just unhook the quick disconnect on the interior and always have it disconnected. If it doesn't work and doesn't have power, it's not illegal.

i would assume if the police are as adamant as stated even just disconnecting the quick disconnect or unhooking the bulb would still result in a ticket. I only suggest removing the bulb entirely as in the officer's eye it isn't something that can be re-enabled relatively quickly, and with that you may wind up with a "thank you for your cooperation have a pleasant evening".

My nephew covered his with those emblems from autozone that look like chrome vent accents. They make all sizes shapes and styles. He just slapped one on each side using emblem adhesive and not the cheap 2sided tape it came with
