Good luck, man.

Good to hear your going to make it through the weekend without severe pain. Drugs affect everyone differently. Some are like you whereas others take more and the pain is removed w/o the buzz.

2 Vicodin is alot
I take a half of one

and the tylenol warning is real
it's not the narcotic codeine that's the problem..it's the non narcotic acetometophen
that can do serious damage>liver

and mixing with alcohol will indeed exasperate thate problem

get the tooth out

tooth pain being near the brain
..awful powerful misery indeed!

Yeah.

I had my wisdom teeth out in the summer of '06. That afternoon and the next day I was taking 2 Vicodin every 6 hours (the pain was severe). I remember lying on the floor and watching the ceiling undulate. I could still feel the pain, I just felt sort of detatched from it and didn't care. A couple days after the surgery the pain eased up and I started tapering off.

Oh please... do a little critical thinking before you throw out punch lines like this. Colloidal silver is like any other medicine, and needs to be treated with caution and respect. The people that turned blue/grey severely abused it in high concentrations. Typical strengths of colloidal silver are 10-30 parts per million. The strength these people took were more in the order of 300+ ppm.

This stuff works! Just don't use it like an idiot and you will be fine.

Colloidal silver has no exit mechanism from the body. That means that when you take it, it stays. Obviously, taking less results in fewer symptoms, and that below a certain threshold, the damage is invisible.

The most important fact, however, is that we've well surpassed medications such as these to the point that the risk isn't worth the reward. There is a reason the FDA has banned sales of colloidal for anything other than entertainment.

http://www.fda.gov/ohrms/dockets/98fr/081799a.txt

The big issue is that most all colloidal silver preparations do not even include the necessary ingredients to make the silver antimicrobial, which is kind of the point of it--so even if it did work (I side with the FDA here) the vast majority of them aren't formulated in a fashion that would permit them to work.

Next thing I'll hear on here is to use Mercurochrome on the suture after the tooth is pulled...

Just got back from my dentist today. I will be losing 5 teeth total right now. They are decayed down to the nerve and the bone. Two of them are severely infected. He told me it's good I'm taking care of this now because it could kill me. Said the only thing I have going in my favor is my age (24 Years Old). I'll need those pulled, bone grafting done, and then titanium screws put in place with crowns on top (Dental Implants). All told with each tooth pulled and an implant in place I'm looking at a good $10,000.00 right now. There goes my savings account! The test for oral cancer also came back clear so I thank god for that. Other than those major issues have a few tiny cavities which I will be taking care of as well. Should have my dental health back to normal in about 3 months total.

ALSO FOR ANYONE THAT RECOMMENDED RINSING YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH PEROXIDE -- DO NOT! I WAS INFORMED HOW DANGEROUS IT IS AS THE PEROXIDE KILLS EVERYTHING IN THE MOUTH NOT JUST BACTERIA. YOU CAN DEVELOP WHATS CALLED BLACK HAIRY TONGUE FROM THIS AS WELL.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/black-hairy-tongue/DS01134

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. I'll let you know how everything is after I get the surgery done. I will be put to sleep with an IV for this due to the amount of surgical work that will need to be done. Wish me luck!

phew you got lucky! I would totally want to be put to sleep for something like that. You should be thankful a little that your problem is more severe for them to consider putting you to sleep. I would wuss out on just a cavity I'm a clean freak when it comes to my teeth. Hope it works out for you just take them pills after and you wont feel any pain. And really take care of your teeth man your only 24.

Yes right now looking at about $10,000. That's a ballpark estimate so it could be a little more than that. Thankfully I am lucky I've been working since 15 and have been putting money away in savings. That will just about cover my issues here.

I have a needle phobia so an IV sleep is still scary to me but oh well it has to be done. I plan on keeping my dental health up to par after this. Cleaning and checkup every 3 months. No excuses! I liked the analogy someone in this thread used. You can either shell out a couple car payments a year and keep yourself healthy. Or let it get bad and then end up shelling out a down payment on a house.

I'm sorry to hear that, I wish you many luck for the surgery, hopefully everything will turn out as good as it possibly can for you. I remember my Mom had a similliar problem last year, I wasn't that bad and she got it sorted in a couple of smaller surgeries. It was also pretty expensive, but health insurance covered it, so no problem on that front. Do you have to pay it entirely out of your own pocket in the US? Don't you have any official health insurance for cases like this?

Think of it this way. If you didn't have that savings you would be screwed. Now the savings is paying to save your life. I'd say that's worth it.

Nope there is no insurance coverage provided by the government for us here. It's all private insurance companies and I sadly don't have that as an option in my line of work. Will be paying cold hard cash.
