I just bought a cd player for my 06, I used an 16pin to 24pin adapter.

I have two problems

1. when I first hooked up the radio half the buttons did not work, when i was pushing on the radio to put it back it it magicaly worked untill i screwed my dash back in (broken radio)

2. when I was taking it out I heard a spark and now my new cd ford radio nor my old am/fm work what fuse could this be? or is this more serious

According to my 2007 Factory Service manual it should be the F3 fuse in the Central Junction box and it's a 5 amp fuse. The 2006 SHOULD be the same, but not guaranteed. Also F12 is a 15 amp fuse and that it also for the Audio Unit.

Check both of those and get back to us, and we can go from there!

when i got my p71 the police had an aftermarket stero in it,(mine was special) they took the amp, sub/s, and deck, left the interior speakers, and wiring, there was an older looking ford deck in the dash, it did not even turn on, i pulled it out to find all the wires cut from the original wiring for the aftermarket deck, and a value vilage sticker on the back of the ford deck.

the loose wires had been touching and blew both the 2 radio fuses in the central junction box.

wire it up right, then replace the fuses, should be good to go.

fuses would be consistant with your "spark" expecially if the old deck does not work now.

It was fuse 29 under the dash a 15amp fuse. I had to check every one because i could not find it. I also found out my cigarett and obdII were blown. thanks guys

That will be $27.50 Kidding. Glad you figured it out. I also had a PITA replacing my AM/FM/Casette with a CD Player from an LX Sport. I however didn't buy the adapter. I created one myself.

Half my radio is still not working, is this a craped out radio?

half of your radio? the screen? the speakers? the buttons? your left ear?

Buttons 1-5 dont work, but 6 works, tremble, bass, and power button dont work. It stays on all the time. So I presume this would not be caused by a left ear. lol

My stock radio does the same thing...sometimes buttons 1-5 work somtimes they dont.Im looking for a dash kit so i can install my pioneer cd head unit.

sounds like something is wrong with the deck. double check wiring and are we talking about a stock deck or an aftermarket?

if its an aftermarket I would do some research on the deck itself and I would check the built in fuses in the back of the deck.

did either of the radio fuses in the central jucntion box blow agian?

This is thew stock unit....which is coming out anyway because it has no cd player/ipod input.

so whats the problem? toss the old stock deck and get the aftermarket in... stock deck is 15$ via junkyard.
