As we all know in a crown vic the T5 is a straight swap from the AOD because they are the same length but I have the 1 inch extended tailshaft Lincoln transmission.

I'm buying a complete T5 out of a 94 GT. Being that the Lincoln AOD in a Town Car is 1 inch longer than the normal Crown Vic/Mustang AOD, I figure that I can use a SN95 T5 which is 11/16 longer and it will only leave me 5/16 short which will work. Follow me? My question is where will the transmission mount land? The 11/16 difference is in the length of the input shaft/bellhousing which will land my transmission mount 11/16 over the stock trans mount location if my math is correct. At this point I would need to elongate the transmission mount holes. Right?

Now in this write up, he discusses needing a different driveshaft after the T5 swap. I don't see the need for a different driveshaft, but can someone explain to me what he is talking about?
