Anyone know a shop that can do my Blend Door Actuator with out removing my entire dash in the Seattle-Tacoma area? I do not want to pay Ford a grand for this repair. I have heard it can be done through the glove box.

Make sure it's an actual issue... I thought mine was toast, and on a whim bought a replacement control head... and it fixed it... Wasn't the BDA at all..

Well Ford wants $79 to diagnose (hook up to a code reader?) so I guess I can do that first. My temp is stuck on the hot side, so no matter what the heater selector is on (a/c,vent and even off) it blows hot air.But could it be the temp switch that stuck? Doesn't it work on vacuum? The switch would be cheaper than the BDA.

So would a code reader pick the up the faulty switch in the Heater Control Panel?

So if one of the 3 switches is bad you replace them all? (Control Panel)Meaning it's all one piece?

It's like 5$ at a junkyard.

taxi king would be able to fix it for a reasonable cost.

Do you know any body who has had this done at Taxi King? I have heard conflicting stories on their work.

Don't drop money until you're sure of the problem.

its not their work that is the issue, its the owner and his customer service that is the issue, he sometimes like to change prices, and he knows when he's got you by the balls.

be serious when it comes to negotiation and get a price on any-parts before they start the work.

the maxican workers know their crown vics very well, I'm a full service tech at a shop, and besides me, they are the only ones to touch my car.

I honestly think it's a cultural thing.

When I was there getting my push bumper, I offered the owner some beef jerky.. Real beef jerky, the expensive type... He took half of it... Then turned around and said 'Give me some more so I can take it to that guy' (The Mexican that was working)....... Then, we found out about my electronics expertise, he says 'oh good, you can tell me how much this stuff is worth, follow me'...... then drags me back into the depths of the panther junkyard, and says 'here, you write down what these are worth'..... Didn't ask me, didn't offer a discount for helping me out, just straight out told me to do it, like I was his employee...

Like I said, I think it's a cultural thing.
