Has anyone used the rubberized undercoat to paint there grille? I got a can and was thinking about painting the grilled with it. Not to sure if it will last but think it will be kinda neat

Try PlastiDip, if it doesn't look right you can just peel it off.
It's got a matte finish.

Plasti-Dip FTW.

Did that to my Y2K MGM...I hate the way the stock grille looks, so I painted the vertical parts and left the surround chrome. Still not as nice as the CV grilles, but a lot better than stock.

I'd also say Plasti-Dip over the rubberized undercoating.

When I got the CVPI grille from the junkyard I plasti-dipped it because the plastic was very weathered. After I got done it looked good as new.

I used Krylon paint for plastic and it looks great. Got it at my local hardware store for about 5 bucks.

Center is plasti-dipped. Did it last summer and has held up through the winter.

That looks great on the new grand marquis.
I'd love to have a newer MGM all blacked out.

Yeah looks good. Can you notice the texture or does it just look like paint?

After it dries, you cannot notice the texture. It just looks like matte black paint. It looks good, though. Taping it critical to getting it just right (you can see a couple spots where I did a bad taping job). You have to remove the tape when it's wet, too, or else it will peel the plasti-dip in areas that you don't want it to

Since it's the grill I HIGHLY suggest going at the edges of the tape with an x-acto knife or something of that nature. That plastidip WILL come off with the tape if it dries even a little
