Welp, the car was taken off the jackstands today. Took her for a few laps around the backyard and I'll tell ya, it felt good without the slushbox in there.

I drink Red Bulls daily. Well Red Bull or Grape NOS. They make me twitch and get really active and don't help my concentration at all.

Hey ME any videos of you cruising the yard in it yet?:D

Did some cleanup on my new headunit install, and half-completed a marauder cluster swap

Swapped in some better JBL rear speakers out of a Continental. While not bone rattling, the bass is impressive for the 4$ I spent on speakers!

Replaced the miserably failing badge on the trunk lid. Used some different ones, figured it would match the silver paint I've been using on the car... I have 2 more and 2 4.6L emblems, I was thinking about putting those on the fenders, but think it will probably look goofy now....ugh.. you can see one of the bald spots...

Fixed the metal clanking sound coming from my cabin when going through normal driving. Turned out my rear seat's seat back clips were overly loose and making noise when any forward or backward motion shook the seat. Wrapped all that up in duct tape and put the seat back together. Test sat in it too, and any metal creaking I had was gone. All good to go.

Got to work and the intake manifold cracked...

Looks like the new owner will be getting it with a brand new intake manifold / gaskets / fresh coolant!

Was sick over the weekend so this is really from the end of the week.

Did some wiring cleanup and attempted to wire the Hella 1000s, which were on the car but not wired up. I am nearly positive I broke the light bulbs when I was installing them (yes, both. I swear it was the only way they fit in). Need to find a trigger voltage somewhere that is part of the accessories circuit, as the Hella 1000s have a lighted switch that I don't want to stay on all the time.

Also did a stupid thing: replaced my oil cooler lines and changed my oil for the first time on the Vic. Totally didn't realize the oil filter adapter was a separate piece and that it had not been snugly secured into the car, so it came out a bit and wasn't sealing well. Started the car and two quarts of oil were on the floor. DOH! Caught it fast enough where it didn't do any serious damage, but I hate to shock the old girl like that. Got her filled up and she seems plenty happy. Felt like a dunce.

Had an awesome thing happen too: was working on the car with the garage door open (I live in an apartment, so it's a shared space) listening to The Boss and a guy walks up and asks if I like steak. Of course I like steak. He works for farm out in my hometown, Petaluma, and does deliveries into the big city on Saturday. Turns out they have some extra merchandise, and would I like to buy some steaks at chicken prices? I happen to be going out to Tahoe this weekend with a whole bunch of guys, so I bought $560 worth of steak for $260. He was stoked, I was stoked, and it turned out we went to the same high school. Good things come when you work on your car.
