Just got my 97 p71 back on the road after sitting for 1.5 years in which time i replaced the transmission with a t45, removed the oil cooler, replaced the rear swaybar bushings and procrastinated a lot.

got the car on the road today, not done, but good enough to drive. first mile was fine, falls out of first geat, damn, get it to the gas station and fill up. When I start it again it is really sluggish, thought i was in fourth gear, checked, was in second. basically stops moving, turned out to be a seized caliper. manage to back it into a driveway and call a tow. i checked the codes, I have a bunch of transmission codes and a p0354 code for ignition coil "D" malfunction.

what do I need to do for the ignition coil?

You need to replace the coil pack. Most likely. Make sure the plug is clean and tight first. 135k isn't super high for these coils, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it is fried either.

The coil packs were replaced with MSD coils about 5-6 years ago, but that doesn't mean they are intact. The engine seemed fine, just couldn't turn the wheel with the seized caliper.

Which coil is D?
