A while ago I started a post about hitting deer and asked if the Rhino bars helped. I mentioned that I was building a set of full wraps for the my rhino bars to add little more protection . Well I got them done and I thought you all might like to see the pictures. My father says they look like designer glasses, and I guess they do kinda, but I still like 'em.

Just phone pictures so not super good, but abyway here they are.

Good job! Are they stouter than the stock wraparounds you mentioned in previous post. I sure need to get some as the deer are everywhere here right now. That should certainly give you some piece of mind. Have a good one.

I do not know if they are stouter or not. I made them out of 1/8 inch wall tubing. I was mostly going for general protecton so I would be able to drive home with two headlights, even if there was some minor damage. I an guessing you would have to build somthing sort of tank style to be able to just bash into the deer and then go home hose off the blood. But yes, they do give a great deal of peace of mind.

The only problem is, your design does not tie into the factory bumper at the corners..like the "real thing"

When hit, the bars will fold in and possibly do more damage than if you didn't have them.

My friend had a Jeep with full wrap-arounds like yours that didn't tie into anything at the corners and he said this himself after getting into an accident...the wrap-arounds did more damage than good because they are unsupported on the ends.

They might be good for "brush", tiny branches and other weak obstacles, but not for getting hit or ramming.

It sure is better than being naked up there. We had yet another deer incident 3 weeks ago. My son bumped yes bumped at 10 mph huge body deer in his ford escort and put like a door open dent in hood. pushed right out yet somehow managed to kill the A/c condenser. For deer in will cause no damage in most incidents unless hit from side like they like to run into my old car. Hitting cars are a different thing. I like the plate brace with holes on that last pic. Blackvic. Good luck to everyone as they are starting to move around!

That's the GoRhino full wrap that came on my '05 CVPI, you can't see the tabs that tie back in to the side of the bumper

If you hit an adult deer, I could see this not doing much even though it's well built. I bumper an Olds with just the center section and the mounting bracket bent, didn't set off airbags but the push bar and the bracket were tweeked.

Did you add some custom brackets to your center section? Also, what's with the primer? Looks like you made custom brackets on the center section and wrap-arounds.

Also notice the triangular shaped bracing (with the holes in it for weight reduction, apparently) on the factory brush guard wrap-arounds that tie in with the center section.

I have a Go Rhino 5040 on my car without wrap-arounds. I was thinking of adding them, but then that idea kind of faded. I really don't need anything at all, to be honest....but I like it. I had a Go Rhino on my Jeep as well.

I wish I could get some for my Montego and Camry as well...seriously!

I never liked the look of the wraparound pushbars. They look too big and out of place on a car.

No custom anything, it's just a 5040(no-cut). This was mid reconditioning, I stripped all the rust off and started with some primer, then decided to strip all the paint and redo the center. I sent the wraps to GangstasInc.

Ah. I never saw a no cut with the side parts. How are the side parts no cut? Do they go between the bumper cover and corner light?

They aren't. "No-cut" is only the center of the 5040, the side had 2 small cuts in the trim strip section of the bumper cover.
