We have some initial our reliability stats for the Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, and Town Car to include owner experiences through December 31, 2011.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2004: 73, better than average

2003: 94, about average

2000: 150, about average

All are based on small sample sizes.

Those of you who have been helping with the survey, thank you, I certainly appreciate it. We'll have further updates later this month and in August. With more participants we could provide more precise information and cover all model years from 1995 on.

Ive figured out why people think panthers are unreliable. They only look at stats like this, where 92 out of 100 make trips to the shop. They dont see that most people take their car to the shop if, say, the radio starts acting funny. Not all of those trips are for essential things. On mine, pretty much everything is broken but the lights, radio, and drivetrain. I'd call that extremely reliable after ~350,000 miles.

Wow, that's pretty impressive! Where did you find this? And are the engine + transmission original, or have they been rebuilt?
