holy crap, haven't seen this thread in awhile. Yeah, whale Vic nose fits a GMQ. If its a '92-'02 you need the fenders from a Vic, Aeros would also require the hood and latch. Otherwise its just the header panel and lights & wiring.

I have a 01 Vic and want to use the 06 grand marquis front and rear bumper covers. I like the sharper lines and also they have fog lights as well.

I have read a ton of stuff but can't figure out what I actually would need to get to make it all work. For example, I know I would need both covers, fog lights and brackets.

I don't know if I would need the header, bumper support bars for both, lights, grille. I can't see the fenders being a problem but I am not sure about those either.

Everyone talks about changing 98-02 to a 2003 but not 01 CV to 06 GMQ stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need the rear trunk fascia from the GMQ as well, otherwise there will be a gap below the license plate. The rear bumper is a direct swap, no further modifications required.

For the front, yes you will also need to swap the header panel/grille/lights to properly line up with the bumper. Not sure if anyone has tried it or not, but I can guarantee you there will be some nasty gaps if it fits at all with the CV header panel.

The hood and fenders are the same, so you are good there.

As for the bumper supports/inner bumper, I don't know, again, I don't think anyone has tried, but I can't imagine that there is enough difference that you couldn't just trim the CV one to fit.

Marauders used the same front end as '03-'05 GMQ but with a different bumper cover. so you'd need '03-'05 GMQ header panel, grille, lights, and bumper. THe hood and fenders are the same as any '98+ crown vic so you're good there.

Header panel, bumper cover, lights, and grille. Hood and fenders will be the same from your 97-98 Grand Marquis.

same problem.

Not sure if mentioned earlier in thread, but aero bumpers will require trimming to fit whale bumpercover.

Edit: I'm not sure about that last bit. I may have just encountered troubles because I was putting the aero bumper on whale frame. Bumper shock mounting holes different?

There are only really 3 hoods on '79-'11 CV/GMQ. '79-'91, '92-'97, and '98-'11. Crown Vic and Grand Marquis share the same hood.

Right. I also believe they were aluminum for 92-97, or at least partially through that run. I believe the same goes for the trunk lids a well.

correct, all '92-'97 OEM hoods were Aluminum. '92-'94 trunk lids were steel, '95-'97 are aluminum. I was actually sort of surprised my Town Car has a steel trunk. There is much less info on the various body panels for Town Cars.
