As far as the grille goes, I already have a replacement ready to go. I'm going to keep the old one, cut out the spokes and then probably buy some vent covering or something and tack it in there and have it as a winter grille, because I AM NOT LOSING ANOTHER F*CKING GRILLE BECAUSE OF WINTER!

I actually had a choice of a never touched the ground but flat one, or one that had been ran awhile. I picked the flat never used one. I am guessing half the weight of the standard mini spare. 12 bucks.

I didn't know that the '98> town cars had aluminum spares... I'll have to remember that for next time I'm at the junkyard.

If the weather is nice enough Saturday I think I'll give the car a nice wash and wax for spring. It's tough living in the snow belt, relying on drive through car washes to make it through the winters.
Hopefully I remember how to wash and wax, it's been a long winter. I'll probably end up like this guy.

Forecast looks dicey.

Also, talk to Champ about waxing the bumper. He told me that fresh paint shouldn't be waxed for a while.

Sunday I attempted a front brake job, only to snap off a stuck bleeder valve in the caliper. Plus side is I now also have one new (refurbed) front caliper!

30 days is the rule of thumb for fresh paint.

Good; I'd hate to see that nice paint work go to waste.

My car will be going in on May 11th.

What are you gonna have done? Do you have paint peeling on your roof? (Mine did, cost a pretty penny to fix.)

My car's roof was re-shot under warranty from Ford, and has since blistered from the inside out. There is a small amount of rust forming.

The hood is just pitted and blistering.

I meant blistering. My hood and roof were the same, rust on the roof, none on the hood. Had to get them both repainted. My car was not resprayed under warranty, did the same thing.

Pulled a second DOHC 4.6 from the junkyard, this one with even less miles than my last! The bores look brand new, with crisp cross-hatching, and no pitting.

This means I should be mostly set for a project of mine. Hopefully I can have it on the road some time this summer.

It's a black Marauder. The whole car is practically bare metal at this point.
