I tried to search but have no clue really what keywords to search for.

Since I got her, my CVPI has had issues with the RPMs at idle (both in park and drive) bouncing all around. Plugs and coils are new and, while there is a slight leak in the intake, it's not losing much coolant. The car runs rough with the AC turned on, but the AC is very cold and doesn't cause any overheating.

I've noticed that, when stopped and turning the steering wheel, the RPMs drop significantly (like down to 450rpm or so in drive) almost as if the engine is struggling to operate the PS pump. PS fluid is full and new.

So....engine struggles with power steering and running the AC compressor leads me to believe its drive belt related in some fashion. Where do I go from here as far as testing / diagnosing / replacing? Or is this normal for 06-07 Vic's with the crappy power steering pump?

did you check the EGR valve? Clean the MAF? Check the IAC? Those 3 parts can cause those symptoms.

No IAC on a DBW car, MAF and EGR clean. No codes. Seems to me like one of the pulley wheels may be binding, but I don't know how to check.

If those were binding I d think you would have some belt squeal. I d lean towards the car not compensating for the additional load placed on it. I believe there is a pressure switch in a power steering line try jumping that too see if it ups the rpm. Dirty throttle body? or engine miss under load plugs/coil?

How is you alternator doing? Does the engine bog down when you lower all the windows down at the same time? To check for binding pulleys, take off the belt and turn them by hand, they should spin smooth without any noise or resistance, just take some pictures of the belt before you take it off to take away any confusion when you are trying to reinstall it.

If the intake has a leak your car will run rough since vacuum leaks do that. Esepecially the erratic idle.

You need to fix it. The other clue is running rough with the AC engaged.
