Yup, by looking at the 97 TC order guide, ABS is standard on all three trim levels, TC is standard on Cartier only, part of a couple of packages, and optional on Executive and Signature.

Huh. Would love to have seen the window sticker from that car. I was of the belief that all ABS equipped '95-'97 CV's and GMQ's had TC as well. I do recall back when that form of TC came out Ford issued a service bulletin on how to disable it using IDS, seems a lot of police departments were complaining about it.

Yeah, it was a fun car. Learned how to drive in it! Definitely did not have TC, could do all the burnouts and donuts we wanted, and it had no problem sliding around in the snow. And then when you slammed on the brakes, ABS would definitely kick in.

It was a dark blue undercover. Had steelies with the standard CV wheel covers, civvy interior with a cassette player, and no markings.

Don't have any of the order guides before 1997, but in 1997 CVPI TC and ABS are together, not separate options.

In 1998 they are also a package, and as is common, TC isn't available with a locking rear end (or with natural gas), however it says locker is not available with the 553 package which is TC/ABS.

I don't think they came with a way to disable it at first, then they released that harness to always disable it, then the button was added like the civilian cars.

I'd be willing to bet a dealer shut the TC off on that car.

Our '96s were the same. They had ABS and no TC. All were 3.27 cars.

GY comfort tread on the 01 MGM, they are great, better than the frog skins that were OE. It does have TC, never had any issues with it, but then again I don't hammer on it. That's what the P71 is for and it does not have TC.

Do you have pictures of Goodyear tires eating dicks? No pictures mean it did not happen! LOL

Agreed. I believe they were known for sucking monkey balls.

My first '05 P71 had RSA's, awful AWFUL tires! Poor treadwear, terrible on wet pavement, and just about useless in snow. Never again.
