Hopefully someone here has tried this and can give me the right answer. Will 15" steelies from pre 98' fit on the rear of 03+? I know they won't clear the calipers in the front but what about the back? Reason I am asking is I have a set of steelies with brand new snow tires that I never used and want to throw them on the rear this winter.

I am quite positive they will fit. I can't remember who, but someone here was using 15" slicks for their rear on their 03+ when they drag raced.

EvilVic has 15" drag wheels on the back, I know NGreen had 15" wheels front and rear on his Turbo car as well.

Yes they will fit. See plenty of cvgms around here with an old set of steelies for winter tires out back. Even saw a Marauder a couple years ago with a set of pre-o3 wheels with snow tires on it. Downside is the tire sticks out further. My concern would be fender to wheel clearance. Might be problematic over bumps with any extra bodies in the car.

As Alex said, they'll fit but will stick out.

Is this for Rustrauder? If so, I would recommend against it in case of RAS failure.
If it's for the green car, I wouldn't worry since it's on coils.

Some pics. The Marauder had lincoln alloy wheels on it if I remember right. Might have been Sport wheels to. Don't remember, but it was definately a set of panther based alloy wheels.
And a couple other randomn spottings. I'm sure if I actually look for them I'll spot a few more.

The angle of the CV from the rear looks kindof cool, until the shot from the back, then it looks like a four legged beetle.

I've got 15s on the back, too.

You'll be good to go.

Yup, they don't fit. The wheel rubs on the caliper.

How close to seating the wheel does it get?

I should try out one of my aftermarket 15s I still have from the box and see how the clearance is on it since it doesn't have as deep a drop center.

The wheel goes on but you won't be able to drive off because it would be seized against the caliper.

Is it the shape of the 15s, then? As others have said, we have people running (different) 15s out back.

Put a 1/4 inch slip on spacer. I believe Mr. Gasket makes some for around $25..Seen them on ebay plenty of times.

I don't want to screw around with that. I have a set of 17"s I can put in the back. The tires aren't great but they will do.
