I'm kinda new to Crown Vics, but not new to the Ford 4.6. I was wondering why are the injectors different between the 04 4.6 Mustang and the 07 Crown Vic? Also can you use the injectors from an 04 on the 07 and if so what else will need to be changed?

stock injectors are color coded, different color different GPH flow

changing to different GPH flow injectors will require a computer tune, with no other mods there will be no gain ...

04 stang is a dual cam 4 valve engine? more HP needs more air & fuel, the maf & throttle body are also larger

why do you want to change injectors?

The 04 mustang is a 2v engine unless it's a cobra SVT. I work for a parts store and when I look up the injectors the 04 stang and 07 vic are different. I don't have the parts here or I could see them. They both have the exact same intake manifold and fuel rail I just don't understand why the injectors are different. Are the injectors on the stang more GPH than the vic maybe? I kind of figured the basics would be needed like the tuning and what not. I was just wondering if there would be any physical mods I would have to do.

why not just get injectors for the 07 vic? is there a price difference or ? are your injectors bad?

No just planning on going with a turbo eventually and doing some research. Just wanting to make sure that the bigger injectors that I can find for the 4.6 will work because summit won't pull anything up under the 07 vic but will when I do a search on the ford 4.6.

nothing performance related come up for a vic. so you cant use that as a search base. I have Marauder and I use cobra parts. what size injectors? and unless you are just buying them to hold till you get the rest of your parts, no sense in installing them.

why not look at 07 mustang injectors? and what are your power goals with a turbo? stock engine? build a engine? These are all things that will come into play to make smoother power adder assembly , tune etc..

Yeah I would just be buying them to hold as I collect all the parts I need. I kinda figured that searching summit for the vic wouldn't be any good so I always look under the 4.6 motor or I search 04 mustang. Of course only engine parts will work like that and anything suspension, exhaust, or body has to be under a vic search. I'm guessing that the performance injectors that I can find for the 4.6 will work.

you need to research which lb per hr injectors you will need. too small and you'll run lean and bang..fuel pump etc will need changed. are you planning on keeping it at or under 400 whp? otherwise you'll need to invest in internal engine items

Eventually I would be going past the 400whp mark. What would be a good fuel pump to use on this returnless system? Or would it be worth it to convert it to a return system and get a fuel cell with external pump?

Sorry just noticed this reply. I plan on starting with around 8 lb boost then working my way up. If my memory is correct the 4.6 will do ok up to around 12 lbs with stock internals, but any more than that will require forged internals etc. I'm hoping to reach 20+ lbs of boost on a twin system and built engine. My hp goal is 500+ whp.

07 mustang injectors wont work, they have a different connector. You should have 19lb/hr injectors stock (orange top) and all 01-04 mustang gt's should have 21lb/hr injectors (pink tops). They are interchangable without a tune but you will run rich. All 96-04 mustang gt's came with the 4.6 2v (96-98 npi and 99-04 pi) and the 96-mid 01's have orange top injectors. Ford swapped to pink tops about halfway through 01 but the tune was never changed so the mid 01-04's run a little rich but run fine with the tune for orange tops.

Anyway, you can swap to the pink tops no problem but theyre only good for about 350rwhp. You can swap to lightning injectors, I think they used 41lb/hr green tops, and theyll be good for your goal and theyre plug and play.

Actually an '07 CV should have 24#(blue) injectors, Ford changed them in 2006 for no apparent reason.

2005 had throttle response problems. Perhaps that is why Ford made the change.

Ok thanks for straightening that out with me. Still I wouldnt get 24# injectors if more than 400rwhp is the goal.
