Noticed this the other day while parked in drive thru. A loud rattle from under car. Checked it out today and it's definately coming from driver side converter. Sounds like the rear. Reading online I found out that ford will cover under 80,000 which is good because I only have 35,000. But it's 12 years old, will it not be covered because of the age of car? thanks

TSB 06-9-10 does not mention age, just mileage.

I thought the federal mandate was that emission-related components had to be covered for 80,000 miles OR 8 years...

Ah yeah, had the same issue with my '04.

If for some reason the TSB doesn't cover it, and your state emissions aren't too picky, you can hack your rear cats out and install straight pipe. Won't trigger a check engine light and will make the exhaust a little throatier sounding.

That's where I lifted it from.

But yeah, I did a rear cat delete.
