I've been trying to to get a bit more info for a project I came up with.

Wouldn't it be cool to have an off road town car? But how?

I learned that a ford ranger and a 2003 town car have a very similar wheel base, and so my idea is to mount the body and engine of a Town Car (I'm looking at 2003+ because I like the body style), on to the frame of a Ranger and attach the 4R70W to the ranger transfer case with probably a custom tail housing and spline, or possibly a M5OD-R2 if it works out better.

I've seen a few other posts about people talking about it, but are y'all aware of anyone actually doing it? I'd like to see what they did, because I'm having trouble finding dimensions for a ranger frame. I mean, I could maybe use an S10 with it's nearly identical wheelbase, but I'd prefer to keep it all Ford.

And when I say dimensions, I mean something like the attachment.

Why not just buy a ranger? They are bringing it back and it will have more power.

It turns out someone has already done it, but on the original frame.

I didn't realize they were bringing them back, but this mainly was for the absurdity of it all.

I'll have to check out the new Rangers though.
