No.

'94 Vic has an AODE that has a modular bolt pattern to bolt to the 4.6l. Box CV's and early '92 CV's use an AOD with the 302 bolt pattern.

Wasnt there an aod with the 4.6 in 1992?

I was thinking that the aode didnt debut until 1993 in the vics. Of course I havent got a clue as to the bellhousing and bolt pattern on those models.

good luck.

92 was a transition year, early Panthers got the AOD, and later models the AODE. Common sense would tell me the 92 AOD had the modular bolt pattern, because whoever built the transmission could use the same new bellhousing design (to fit the 4.6) for all newer transmissions. Making a 4.6 with the 5.0 bolt pattern just wouldn't make sense.

Kinger can solve this though, do you have a 5.0 style 4.6, or a 4.6 style AOD?

its a old style, the AOD from my car can fit any car made from the 60's on up with a 289/302/351.

i find it pretty cool that the early 4.6 had the same bellhousing pattern as something made in the 60's.

any panther car made on or after 2/18/92 has the new modular pattern, which is probably still same as the new 03's.

However this makes it very difficult when junkyard shopping as the people there think the tranny out of a early 92 car is something special, the only thing different is that it gets a "A" overdrive servo. I just told them I needed it for a box, much simpler.

it wouldnt matter anyway if it bolts up or not. AOD-E requires feedback from the engine. IIRC, they even use the same computer.

luckily, the AOD, AOD-E and 4R70W (later model trans) are all the same dimensions as far as length, and mounting (all have the trans mount in the same spot)
