Hi All: I flushed my coolant with a Prestone flushing Tee
spliced into the heater hose.All nice and clean.
Now how do I add the correct amount of anti freeze.50/50 mix.I was not able to find any drain petcock on the radiator.

yea i was wandering the same thing,i need to drain a little of the fluid out, is there a way on these cars?

I looked and looked and looked for a petcock, and gave up and started having mine flushed and refilled at the shop. I would love to find a way to drain one so I could at least drain the coolant out of the radiator at the one year mark and replace with 50/50, and then at 2 years still have it flushed professionally, refilled with 50/50 and distilled water, and have the thermostat replaced. IMO, replacing the thermostat is cheap insurance.

That is odd, I don't think I have ever seen a radiator without a drain. The original one in my 00 Grand Marquis had one, and the aftermarket replacement does as well.

If for some reason there isn't one (which I find odd) why not take off the lower radiator hose?

i *think* i found the drain. look on the driver side. theres this twistlike thing. maybe thats it? im not too sure at all, as i really want to flusg mine real good...cause i been having some cooling problems and me tinks the radiator is clogged.

On my crown vics it looks like a white plastic hex nut on the drivers side near the bottom. I can basically reach it from the wheel well.

The easiest way to drain the coolant from a CV/GM is to remove the drain plug from the block. Drivers side towards the rear. Insert 3/8" drive and lefty loosey. Coolant comes out fast and clean, easy to catch. Put on a little thread seal and thread it back in.

would flushing it with a pressure washer damage it?

Drain plug should be on Drivers side bottom of radiator as krewl1 stated.

Just an FYI, you will want to drain the rad AS WELL AS drain the block for a full coolant drain & refill. Also be careful about those prestone t's, they can crack and KABOOM much like the factory 96-02 intakes w/ composite coolant crossover

Draining the block is something I want to start doing. I use a wet/dry shop vac and suck out the block, it works pretty good, I don't think it can damage anything (I have done it 3 times on a car with the composite crossover and 90 k miles and no issues).

I want to find a good way to clean out the air seperator part of the degas bottle, I got some nasty stuff going on in there, I might even replace it it looks like it could be affecting how it works.

4.6 system holds 15.8 quarts;
I flush 3-4 times to try to get to 100% water. Drain again add 2 gal* of NON-mixed coolant, top off with water will give you 50/50 mix. Make sure you put cap on after you add coolant to water so when the engine gets up to temp it won't boil(puke) the mix all over the engine bay. Don't open the cap when hot to prevent it from blowing out at you.
Check a few times after hot/cold engine cycle to make sure all the air is out of the system. If res is low top off with just water.

(* If you want to make a science project out of this with exact 50/50 mix, add only 7.9 quarts on straight coolant!)

How do you drain the block? Is it some sort of pipe fitting?
I wouldn't want to mess with this as you could crack the block if you overtighten, or it could leak with damaged threads.

All the replies are great.But now we have 100% water in the system (rad & block)how do you drain enough water out to add two "GAL." of 100% antifreeze.
