Sure it can fit... theoretically you could get a 26.59" rim with a .01" thick strap of rubber around it..... the only question of importance is.... can 22s fit AND keep the vehicle/wheels safe? NO. At that size every little bump will damage your rims. If you never drive more than 1 mile from home and the ground is perfectly level and you NEVER have anything on the road, not even a grain of sand, then you will be fine.

Yes they can. There is a dude on here (can't remember his screen name) with a nice 03 Gray Grand Marquis on 22's. I think he is running a 265/35/22 tire.
I lifted mine in order to make room for the bigger tires 305/40/22 (truck tires), and the ride is better than my man's Vic who is running 265/35/22, even with the lift. no bullshyt.

22's will fit with a 35 series tire but i didnt like the ride much on my 96 so i swap my 22's for 20's with 40 series tires i could not beleive the difference there was you might be alright cause i know those here vic's have a better suspension set up than my year does

Iv'e got 22s on mine. Oh wait, those are 22.5 Alcoas on our motorhome.
