Hello everyone!
I own a 1989 Crown Vic which had a stroked 347, that did not work out for me. I'm now waiting on a 408 from Blueprint Engines and a Lentech AOD Street TT. I have an EFI set up with Fiveology mass air conversion kit which I want to reuse. What intake manifold would suit me best without giving me hood clearance issues? Thanks in advance for any info!

Cam Specs:

Roller
.543 Intake / .554 Exhaust
218 Intake / 226 Exhaust duration
@ .050 - 112 degree lobe separation

The engine and trans are in the build process....three more weeks
I have a 70mm BBK TB from the old engine....good?

That's a pretty small cam for a 408. Lift at .600+ and 230/240+ on duration would still be very streetable. What heads do you plan to run? You'd probably need a 75-90mm on a single plane set up for efi.

That cam is friggin tiny. My 351W cam has more lift at .565 and .574. See how you like it, you may end up swapping to a Bootlegger cam or better yet, a custom cam.

When discussing camshaft durations, a hydraulic flat tappet and hydraulic roller have little in common. The roller cam allows the valve to open at a much faster rate than a flat tappet will allow, so the 'area under the curve' of high port flow is much higher with a roller.

By 'Roller' cam, is this a retrofit (for non-roller block) or standard hydraulic roller for '94-97 roller cam 351W van/truck block?

While the lift is 'low' (in reality it is kept near .550 for stock piston-to-valve clearance), What concerns me more is the short 216/220 duration for the big stroker motor..

My 393W was originally built with a standard block and a hydraulic flat tappet cam with the short duration (216/224) for emissions reasons (needed to pass Ohio's sniffer test), but once the car became emissions-exempt, I went to a retrofit hydraulic roller with the same .550 lift, but a 276/282 adv duration (224/230 @ .050") and instantly gained close to 75hp (ETs dropped from 14.20s to 13.10s), with no other changes.

BTW, the problem with running an EFI in a 351W is the lack of decent EFI intakes for it! The hot setup used to be the GT40 intake from a First Gen (93-95) Lightning. But the Lightning upper was very tall, so you had to use the GT40 Mustang upper. Problem is the Mustang inlet is on the 'wrong' side for a Vic. Then we get to the hood clearance issues, of which I can't help you since mine is carbed... Just use this Summitracing.com search for EFI intakes for a 351W. linky here

Trick Flow Box-R (the 90mm version for 351W) for EFI. For hood clearance issues, I found a Country Squire in the JY and nabbed the hood from that. Cut a hole in it and welded braces to the existing hood braces to stiffen it up a bit. Still haven't riveted the scoop on yet. Still need to find the space to do the engine swap as no apartments I've lived at will let me even change a tire in their lots.
