18" Fanblades went with the Kuhmo Ecsta's and the Michelin X-Ice Xi2's went on the stock 17" steelies.

I paid $480 for the Fanblades on Craigslist which was much more than I had planned, but still not bad considering how much they revolutionize the look of the car. I got Discount Tire to price match the Ecstas on Tire Rack (along with the price I would have paid to have them mounted at Walmart). I paid more in the end because I had to pay for tax and I decided to purchase replacement certificates.

The 17" steelies came with the car and I mounted the X-Ice's on them for winter. Last winter was a pain, I got stuck in the driveway! Had to resort to the trusty old Focus to get me through the snow. I went to a different Discount Tire and managed to get them installed with tax for cheaper than Tire Rack (and that's not even including shipping). They also threw in free replacement certificates too! It helped that Tire Rack had two promotions ($50 rebate for 4 snow tires, $70 michelin rebate for 4 tires). I know a lot of people support Tire Rack here, but if you print up a Tire Rack page, Discount Tire will match the price and you might even be able to get them to come in significantly cheaper as I did. Of course, it may have also helped that I bought tires before the rush.

Anyway, this way I have two sets of tires. I can enjoy the classic look of the black steelies during the winter and the sexy look of the fanblades in the summer. I couldn't be happier to have a car with this many personalities. smile

@FireFightin_MJ,
Limited slip. I'm assuming that's the same thing?

@SteveBoos,
I'm liking them more and more. When I first got them, I didn't like them at all. But I'm amazed at how hard it is to oversteer now, especially in wet conditions. These things STICK TO THE ROAD in the rain. Dry cornering traction is excellent too, though they do become noisy when they start reaching their limits. I like the quietness of my RSA's, but the performance of the Kuhmo's are outstanding for the money. They have a tendency to spin a little more than my RSA's (as in more prone to do burnouts), which seems a little strange considering how well they grip the road otherwise. Ultimately, I'm satisfied with them. I'm hoping they wear well.

@everyone else,

Walther PPS .40S&W
Kahr PM40 (sent back to factory for repairs)

I found a $50 rebate for the PPS and always wanted to buy the .40 version since the 9mm PPS I have is quite possibly the best gun I've ever owned. Cabela's had it on sale too, and they made the mistake of sending me a 10% off coupon on my next purchase, plus I had Cabela's bucks built up on my card. So I went in to buy it.

After fondling the PPS for a few minutes and telling the sales person I wanted it, I noticed the Kahr PM40 and asked if I could check it out while I was there. The trigger pull made me immediately fall in love with it. It was like the PPS but even sweeter. That and it's quite possibly the smallest .40 there.

I told the sales person, "I can't make up my mind!". He said something like, "they are both great guns". I told him, "you aren't helping!". Then he said (jokingly), "you know, you could always just buy both". So... yeah... I did. lol.

I thoroughly examined both guns prior to purchasing, but they didn't give me the guns that I examined (they pulled some new ones from their stock). So when I got the Kahr home and decided to fondle it some more, I discovered it had a crooked front sight. Since I paid a pretty penny for it, I emailed Kahr and they told me to ship it to them and they will replace the sights. I'm hoping they throw in a spare magazine or upgrade them to night sights or something, but if they are plain sights that are straight, I'll be happy.

Looks nice man. I love black Panthers. Also, in the thumbnail in the Gallery, I thought your ride was a convertible and doubleclicked your pic as fast as I could. lol.

lol. I can see how you thought that, it almost looks like an El Crownvico. Pick up truck Crown Vic.

Debating when I should put on my snow tires. It's starting to snow now and it's below freezing, but I don't want to put them on too early and burn through the tread of my snow tires on dry pavement. This sounds crazy, but I miss my steelies.

Hence why you keep the steelies in the garage! If i didn't do this i would be out of a car and $300. Keeping all my old parts has helped me out a ton!

I have the steelies still in the garage. The snow tires are mounted on them. I just miss the rugged and aggressive plain CVPI look (not that fanblades don't look awesome too). It's amazing how drastically just swapping out wheels changes this car. Questions quickly went from "are you a cop?" with the steelies to "is that a marauder?" with the fanblaes (or recently at Sonics, "are you an *undercover* cop?"). Hehe.
