I've watched every one of these PPV events with friends and it's a lot of fun. Great racing, great antics, great fun.

With every one of these events, the price on the average Crown Vic increases by 5%. laugh

I'm always thinking that, but ol' Cleetus really loves the P71.
His events and antics with them have proven how fantastic of a car it is. I'm excited to get my transmission put back together so I can play around in the car again. I barely had gotten my feet wet when it let go.

His 'personal' P71, "Neighbor", was bought back in the beginning of his channel. After just loving the car for awhile, he did swapped in a supercharged Mustang powertrain, and it became his first burnout car and first drift car. For years now, fantastic P71 content has peppered his channel videos and help make me a believer.

Yeah, he does love the p71, but the problem is his million plus followers who would otherwise ignore the crownvic are now suddenly wanna-be cleetus' and get a crownvic to only beat the crap out of. Before, our only painful reality was derby cars, now we got that and the wannabe street drifter.

Where do you think those cars would've gone if he hadn't purchased them?

It's not like these cars typically end up in collector's huge barn collections.

Run into the ground on the street or on a track. What's the difference?

This is a fair point. That said, I never understood the P71/P7B hate on here. Are we not here to enjoy Panthers? Are P71s not Panthers? One could argue Cleetus is "enjoying" the P71 with what he's doing but what's the difference between a P71 and an LX for that matter? Most Panthers I see on a daily basis are clapped, P71 or not.

Under an old Ford pickup. That's where they all seem to be going anymore. I'm in a FB group for the swaps, and it's not at all uncommon to see guys hacking up seemingly clean MGM Ultimates, Town Cars, and CV Sports.

Sad that it has to be applied to cars, too. And cars that are all nearly identical to each other in nearly every way. I just find it annoying that P71s are assumed to be the best choice for destroying needlessly. My P7B has 55k on it and is now just cresting 830 hours on it. It's not just spotless for a car in New England, it's pretty damn spotless anywhere.

My neighbor has a Lincoln Town Car with nearly 400k on it. It's rotted to crap and by his own words it's his beater car. But with the logic applied here I'm guessing it's my P7B that belongs in a derby?

A hooptie is a hooptie based upon it's relative condition, not it's original design or intent. In my opinion anyway.

Decent P71/Bs are the exception. It's not so much a question of hate as recognizing that most are too far gone to save.

E-code lights w/ relays, LEDs w/ switchbacks, 15x8 Ansen slots w/ 255/60 BFG's, Kenwood stereo, various hacks.
This, of course, was merely the semi-delirious notion of a fever-patient, but I remember that it struck me at the time as being eminently practical and feasible.
