Can Anyone ID This Driveshaft - 06/04/21 01:33 AM

Wondering is this is one of the Alcoa MMC/MMX driveshafts?

If so, can I swap this into my 2011? I’ve been trying to figure it out, but not certain. Chris’s driveshaft swap article on ADTR is good, but talks primarily about swapping into a civilian car. I have a P7B.

I apologize for the premature post, just saw this in the ADTR article.

“ Note: An MMC/MMX driveshaft can be identified by one of a few different ways based on feedback from several CrownVic.net members:
– MMC/MMX has pink and green stripes running around the shaft while all others have pink/blue/orange stripes.
– Large letters “POLICE” with small black print with the letters “MMC””

Based on photos it is not a MMC/MMX

That is a standard aluminum driveshaft.

A MMX driveshaft would be direct swap into any P71/P7B

I saw the ID guide late. I'll keep searching for the MMX. Thanks.

Good to know it is a direct swap. Thank you for the info, it is appreciated.

The cragslist one is a high price for something that's usually $20-$50 or so at junk yards.

I had to go to multiple junkyards across a month or two to finally find one. When I found it I wasn't even sure it was it.

The welds on my MMC look different (the colors were faded away) but you can still see the POLICE MMC or whatever it said on there. Its also slightly lighter if you weight it next to a regular one.
