Anyone Change Out a Power Steering Pump?

As I approach the 300,000 mark, it's becoming more and more clear that the power steering pump and hoses in my 1995 aren't going to be around for the celebration. I was wondering if anyone had replaced their pump and hoses and had any tips or suggestions?

Hoses are easy to replace.
My suggestion:
Go to a junkyard and get the newest, lowest-mileage PI or HPP gearbox you can find, buy a '97-02-style pressure hose and return line, and get a new PS pump.

what is the difference between the 97+ PI and HPP gearbox and hoses?
