So far?

Before you put anymore money in lights that you probably do not need, I'd save up and get a paint job, or atleast fix the rust on the RF fender.

Sorry. I guess I should have clarified in the first post. I am law enforcement in the great state of NJ. Second that is an old video. Havnt updated it since I got the whole car painted and had the new fenders put on as well as tint and a push bar. Just wanted to see if anyone else did any kind of lighting. But like I said I am Law Enforcement so the lighting is legal for me.

Personal/Duty. Obviously I don't take my personal Escalade out on the road. My vehicles Escalade and Crown Vic I use on details if all the PD cars are being used. Mostly the Vic gets detail use on it. The Escalade is my daily driver but if the TAC Team gets called in you gotta get to the PD quick and what moves people more right?

i find it funny you are 23 (youtube link) and you have two take home cars, everyone knows thats an old ass crown vic, but whatever makes you happy, if you want to go out and get a felony go right ahead.

i just hate how [censored] like this makes other vic owners look bad and i'm sure thats also why everyone else is giving you neg. comments.

I call BS. you don't run amber lights on a POV and red/blue on another....

Hmm, I DO like strobes so I like the video. Perhaps a flashback of my teen years and the dances \:D

As long as its being used by someone with lawl inforcment, I gots no problems \:D

Still demoing with your dad's business after a year?

With how you talk in that thread, I doubt you are a LEO. Giving you the benefit of a doubt, you could have been hired on AND past FTO within one year. However, being part of a "TAC Team" and being able to use emergency lights on a POV is highly unlikely in that time frame. I could be wrong, but giving the information on the internet that's what I am guessing.

Permits are required for most lights (including amber) in NJ.

Yank it all!!!!....or suffer dire consequences on the forums!

Who the heck leaves lights in a car anyway when they sell vehicles as POV's?

Well.. First off the Amber lights were thrown on the Vic prior to becoming and LEO. The Vic was actually built up to be a Security/Traffic Unit for my father's company. However I was already in the process of becoming an LEO. I was going to do it as a side job once I got on. So that is why the Amber is on the Vic. Second if you were ever part of a Law Enforcement Agency you would know that when the Tac Team is called in they also call in regular officer to back up the Tac Team when they do their thing. Last if you were ever part of a Law Enfocement Agency you would know how things work and know that you don't "need" permits.

Been very close and worked with a few law enforcement agencies. Never heard of that tactic. Usually the TAC or SWAT guys get paged out and the on duty officers back them up. Off duty officers have been called in 4-5 times in this area since I've been alive. Every department and region are different though.

That line of logic might work there, but a lot of places it wouldn't work. Law enforcement is not above the law, they still have to follow rules like everyone else does. For you to say you are above the law because of your occupation, makes me seriously wonder.

So, your dept. doesn't have enough vehicles for all of it's personnel, and you have to use your own car?

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 02:39 PM

ha law enforcement does not follow traffic laws around here, and that stuff would be fine here. the guys who escort the big rigs have them all over the place. and whats the big deal are yall afraid of some day them outlawing the panter because they look like police cars. HA!thats a laugh, most of the guys on here look like cops anyway so what the big deal if he isnt turning them on in traffic, it wouldnt be a big deal.

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 03:39 PM

Our department and our state does not allow any blue lights on POV's and no forward facing red lights unless you are rescue personel, E.G. volunteer firefighter or rescue squad. Best way to be fired is doing this. Tennessee does not allow any blue light including the little washer lights the ricers run.

Wow. I can see you and the OP if he cant prove he is law enforcement lasting a really long time on this board... There is a problem with people dressing there CVPI's in full kit seeing as it gives the rest of us with crown vics a bad name.

i understand that but why get so neg. about it so fast man it looks just like mine when his lights are off so what the deal

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 04:51 PM

if yall are so quick to just boot someone off a board then i dont want to be in yalls "click" anyways. ive been on here such a little amount of time and all i see is how neg yall are about other peoples rides. it illegal as hell to take off cats on them two but no one says anything to them. but as soon as someone puts a light on there car yall freak out and call him a whacker. and exile him from cvn

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 05:06 PM

samdust, the members and moderators on this forum try really hard to keep this site clean from garbage. first thing you will need to do id grow a thick skin to survive. second thing is you, along with everyone else, need to realize that police equipment such as lights on some jaggoff's car, who shouldnt have them, gives us a bad name and the forum a bad name. we do not need that type of stuff posted on here. if you stick around long enough, you will find that most people on here know A LOT about these cars and will be more than happy to give you USEFUL advice.

this is not the site where everyone will like what you do to your car and tell you how much your sh!t dont stink. if someone doesnt like what you did to your car, you will know about it. its your choice how you are going to react to this, most here take it with a grain of salt and come back with better results.

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 05:19 PM

ok i just dont see how everyone with a light bar of any color is a whacker, and the guys with push bumpers and steelies isnt. and then be told i wont last cause i think that way

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 05:22 PM

x2 with what sanco said. There is a difference between removing cats and adding red and blue lights. When you add red and blue lights to an old cruiser, you are undeniably TRYING to impersonate a cop. That [censored] is not cool. Most cops could give a [censored] less if you take a cat off a car, but when you light up a slow moving driver, they will [censored] you with the long [censored] of the law.
Posted by: samdust

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 05:25 PM

i am not backing up people who turn them on on public street i agree that [censored] dont fly. but just because he has them does not mean hes a dumb whacker
Posted by: WeekendWarrior

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 05:28 PM

It means he is trying to be more like a cop. There is no arguing that point. If you have the lights on your car, chances are you will probably use them at some point. No matter what way you look at it, it makes non-whackers who drive Cvics look bad
Posted by: sanco

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 05:39 PM

think about it this way...what in the world would your explaination be to have those lights on the car OTHER than to try and look like a cop.

do you really think that people that have them don't use them to mess with people? i seriously doubt that someone has them ONLY for show or track...what show do you use it in? if you went to any car show with that crap you would get laughed at.

lights on a car are also ILLEGAL pushbar and steelies are not. when you see lights in a car like this you right away assume its a cop, there are no ifs ands or buts.

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 05:52 PM

ok ok i get it but u cant say that pulling up with a pushbar and steelies doesnt look like a cop. thats all im saying. so im done with my rant i just dont see how most guys on here can call him a whacker when there rollin in a p71 with spot light, pushbar and steelies. and i cant believe im the only one who sees it that way maybe im crazy

so a suv with a pushbar and steel rims would be a cop car?

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 06:01 PM

Show me a few unmarked cruisers that have pushbars. It gives crown vics a tough look, not to mention are semi-useful. Mine saved the front end of my car on more than one occasion. Lights dont do [censored] for your car
Posted by: sanco

Re: Anyone else have lighting to show.. - 09/08/08 06:06 PM

there are a lot of reasons why pushbar and steelies go by without a problem. if you want to start another pushbar debate, be my guest, it will add another 1000000000000 pages to this thread. yes the pushbar and steel wheels do make it look more like a cop car but the thing with that is most people also like the way the car looks with it on. its more of a looks decision than anything else for most people on here. trust me if someone goes on here and starts talking about how he installed that stuff to scare people he wouldnt last too long either. i had it on my car because i liked the way it looked, but than i took it off because i decided it looked better without it. it had nothing to do with making the car look more like a cop car. spot lights are also used a lot by the people on here when they go on country roads, along with the issue of filling that nasty hole if you take it off.

you cannot make the same argument with lights on the car. there is absolutelly NOTHING you can say to justify why you have lights on the car other than that it looks more like a cop car.

what are you gonna say? it looks better with it on? no you look stupid as hell and it could get you shot in some areas
it lights yup the road better at night??? my ass it does

ITS ILLEGAL!!!! even if you are using colors that are not, you are trying to make yourself appear like someone you are not.
