Mods include LED taillights and blacked out front lights. All LED lights except for the front turn signals (working on it). Dashcam. Factory in dash CD changer. New grille in the proper chrome. Detinted. PIAA wipers. Headliner covered A and C pillars. Underdog.

Pros: Utah car - no rust. Paint is clean, interior is spotless. Loaded - I think it has every option available that year.

Cons: Still may need a windshield. Compass does not work. Hard to find part. EATC.

Compass is a pretty easy fix. The solder for the surface mount resistors (Little black squares) gets cracked. Simply touch them up with a soldering iron, and you're good to go!
Same reason the odometers go out.

Beautiful car!
And 08 was the last good year, before 90% of the options were discontented.
Black interior? Pretty rare on MGM.

Agreed, 08 is the best DBW year, especially for CVPI. Interior swap possible from 2003 plus so much easier to find seats, etc. It is first year of E85 so feel free to slap on Flex Fuel badge.

I rather like 08 as a favorite year myself. If it weren't for the OD soldering issue... which I find present on almost all of them... I'd have no complaints about 08.

Thanks, everybody!

I'll figure out what I want to do about the soldering next year, if I can't find a module in the meantime. The dash did go out on me a couple times, which I hadn't experienced before with the message centre cluster, so I may take it apart and have a look at it, too. On the other hand, I have a cluster in my storage locker with I think 2,000 more miles on it than this one, so I may run it up to 94,000 and switch it for that one, too.
