While im sure these are way overpriced, i wanted to know if anyone had any experience with either of these center consoles:

Big arm rest

or

double lock

I'm liking the first one because of the arm rest padding, but who doesn't want multiple locking compartments? Tough call.

I'm new to the forums, just got my vic, and am dying to lay my arm somewhere.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

dotman

Welcome to the forums. I can't help you on the center console but just want to state: looks like In-Pursuit is doing good business. Your vic's almost a mirror image of mine.

The first console is the one I have - it's a actually a Smittybuilt Jeep console, available at truck accessory shops.

CVN member unixadm put in a late-model Chevy Tahoe console, IIRC, which is much better looking - I'd do a search for those on Ebay.

The Tahoe console looks really nice. A lot have decided to go with the Clutter Catcher available at Walymart for around $27. It isnt flat on the top so its a little uncomfortable as arm rest and doesnt sit up high enough for that either. But at $27 with a locking storage its hard to beat. you can put some type of spacer under it to set it up higher if wanted.

Got mine at WallyWorld for $24.88

Still lacks good arm support though.

Welcome to the forum!

I have a Havis Shield (police) console with an armrest. I'm content with it. I'm left handed so I drive with my right hand anyways (because that makes sense), I just use the door to rest my arm.

Sorry 'bout the HUGE pic. I went back to the hosting website and "downsized" the picture. It should come over at 180 pix......... I tried to fix it, but couldn't get it.

You can get the second one a lot cheaper at JCWhitney. I got mine for $70.00. And it works great as an armrest!

The Blazer / Yukon / Suburban center console from a Late 90's works well in the CVPI. It fits really well between the seats on my 2003. They also come in TAN, Light Grey and perhaps a couple other colors. I have not seen a blue one. Since my CVPI has a Light Flint interior, the Light Grey matched pretty well. I paid about $100 + shipping for it on Ebay. I've had a variety of other aftermarket consoles and none of them have ever been nearly as good compared to an OEM console.

I got the Clutter Catcher but made a custom 'elbow' rest for the section where there is only a little cup. A piece of plywood, some thick foam, and a small piece of black vynil. Looks and works great.

Do either of those center consoles require any hardware to mount them down or do they just sit there?

Mine could be mounted very easy but I have not done so. In the 10 months that I have had it, it doesn't move around. Once all of my equipment goes in, then it will be mounted more secure. At first I thought it was a little bit on the pricy side but wouldn't trade it for anything else now.
