Mine wont always break loose from a dead stop. Sometimes it does and sometimes it wont. there are factors to take into consideration as some have been said earlier.

1.) Tires: Are they new, sticky or good compound? Are they old hard compound and slick?
2.) conditions: Is it dry out? Is it rainy and wet?
3.) Road: What type of pavement is it? Mine wont break loose on asphault but on the older concrete it will some.
4.) Ambient Temp: Is it a cold or cool humid day? Is it a hot dry day?

all of the above factors would play a role in your ability to break traction from a dead stop without doing a brake torque first. There are other factors as well that would have to be considered but that pretty much sums up the major ones IIRC.

I have a 2000 P71 and there is no TC.

As for burn out, I have never tried....

Don't stop trying. Just get a tune up. Bet it will then.

Even before I added my Circle D TC, I could remove my foot from the brake and then violently stab the gas and I'd get wheelspin from both tires.

Another thought: AED 6psi Kit + 4L11's = good burnout ability.

Even my LX with brand new tires and 2.73 rear end will break them loose. Granted, not rip them loose, but nontheless, still spin momentarily. My CVPI with 3.55s will spin for anywhere between 1-3 seconds before it catches from a dead stop. You guys who can't get your wheels to spin need tune-ups.

So, if I'm reading this right, pulling the TC fuse also eliminates the ABS? I have a '95 AFAIK I don't have a TC disable switch and I have to yank the fuse.

Darn.

What does a tune-up consist of? I got new plugs, cops are working great, oil change, air filter, even got rid of that cracked intake. Today after a car wash i almost lost it when i was tearing down the street. almost a complete 360 but i didnt keep it going because it was broad daylight and tickets arent cheap. LOL

But since tires came up, I want some white letter tires for my 16 inch wheels. For some reason i just love the look of them. the only pair ive seen were the goodyear nascar ones. they are s-rated, but the rs-a's are h. should i break down to the s-rated?

There are a lot of raised white letter tires out there. Firestone Firehawk, BFG Radial T/A...if you can only find Goodyears then you aren't looking hard. I have to agree with you though, I do like the look of the raised whites (especially on a black rim).

Clean your MAF
Seafoam the upper intake - clean out EGR, TB and plenum.
Tranny flush.
Fuel Filter (was changed when??? $10-$12 part)
Auto-RX in the oil
New Gear oil for your rear end.

You also asked about gears, there is a little metal tag on your differential case. Mine says 3L27 - The L means track-lok.

If you change your rear gears you can go for 3.55 or 3.73 for more acceleration and the ability to do burnouts easily.

Did a tune-up

New fuel filter, New air filter, New plugs, New COP boots, New PCV, cleaned MAF,IAC,EGR,IAT.
Seafoamed
Flushed Trans
Rebuild and re-filled Rear-end
Checked Air pressure in tires (35 PSI)
Installed P&P plenum
Installed Underdrives

Did all of this and still can only peal from dead stop rarely on dry pavement.

You know it could be the 100#'s+ in my trunk from the speaker box and stuff.

I will have to take them out wait until I am down to about 1/8th tank and try again

try on a different road... the corner just after i leave work is prime wheelspin road, at half throttle you can get both wheels going, full throttle and you've got wheels spinning up to the highway (it's a right hand corner on to the service road, just before a highway on ramp, so much traffic booting it to merge then accelerate up to highways speed, lots of rubber on the road)
check your tire pressure too, air 'em up a little bit first.
