I leave my O/D off in the city unless I'm on the Lloyd expressway..then once I hit 50MPH, I turn it on...and turn it off to assist in braking.

I use mine for descending steep hills, got 2 on the way to work plus I use it for merging into traffic (esp if the AC is on). When I top the 1st hill im doing about 40-45, disengage OD, listen to her tach up and smoothly descend the grade.

Mines only on if I am doing 50+mph and off once I slow down on an off ramp back to a slower speed.

I keep mine off in the city and local highway driving. Only use it on long trips.
My transmission is still in second at 80MPH anyway so I have no use for overdrive around town

Man, Its hard to keep the gas pedal off the floor

Because Florida is flat and gasoline is double what it was a few short years ago, I never turn the overdrive off anymore.

x2, just insert Houston for Florida. No need to turn it off around here and I never tow anything either. I suppose if I lived in a hilly or mountainous area I would turn it off.

Heh. The car is an automatic. Let the computer do the gear selection for you. If you wanted to control what gear you were in, you should have bought a car with a manual!
